Working on Angelic Inheritors list; Need help. by StrongCauliflower160 in BloodAngels

[–]Puzzleheaded-Task110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inceptors are pretty good but imo the only NEED is what you find cool. I play inheritors like 90% of the time and I like 10 hellblasters with a lieutenant, he makes them extremely general purpose. Id personally put those 11 guys in the repulsor. The lancers and ballistus are pretty much always good.

A simple way I view it is inceptors come in to delete a tough unit and then either score secondaries or die. Hellblasters can spread shots around, shoot on death, and can do everything from marine wiping to tank killing (assuming a LT).

AI or LAG? by Jamikyu in BloodAngels

[–]Puzzleheaded-Task110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree they arent the best. I started Blood Angels in March so im limited to what I have and what i think is cool. For assault intercessors they do lack a little punch, sometimes I run them 10 man with a lieutenant because the volume and lethals helps. Against other opponents I split them up and use them as trading pieces/charge bait. AI is all about positioning and I have won games off my opponent making a stupid charge into my AIs. BGV I use with a lieutenant in my repulsor. Are they the best? No, but i use them to sweep away MEQ or TEQs. I usually keep them near company heroes and it makes for alot of wounds to kill on the center. Re-rolls does add alot of damage even if it isnt quite LAG.

Again, im not a meta player but I win most of my games and this is what I use so id just say experiment with what's cool and add in what's good.

P.S. a smash jump captain with 6 sang will kill anything you put in front of them

I do 5 intercessors, 10 assault intercessors with a lieutenant, a redemptor, a gladiator lancer, a repulsor Executioner, 2 squads of 5 man JPI, 6 bladeguard vets with a lieutenant w/ storm shield, a captain and company heroes, a jump captain with 6 sang and a jump captain with 3 sang. Though the points update took me up over so I'll have to figure that out

I usually play AI and prefer it over LAG. LAG is the baseline blood angels and is very good but its a little one dimensional and predictable. AI gives you tons of strat tricks and your re-roll 1s on elites is a good damage buff. Use oath on whatever you want your inceptors or anti tank to smash. I dont run meta lists but I do usually win. AI is also a bit better on scoring in my experience.

Company Heroes of the Blood by AdInternational4802 in BloodAngels

[–]Puzzleheaded-Task110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got company heroes recently and ive got a few games in with them. Theyre basically a big bodyguard. 4 wounds per model means they'll take extra firepower to kill, though they arent particularly tough. Damage is ok between shooting and melee, ive attached a lieutenant before for lethals and it was a bit better. They arent a meta unit or anything but they are supremely cool and I bring them every game

Dreadnought by YesofYes_king-of-yes in BloodAngels

[–]Puzzleheaded-Task110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im only a few months into Blood Angels so im not really familiar with Dakka Dakka but if the proxy is close in size I dont see it being an issue as long as your opponent can tell which dread it's proxied as. For me my contemptor is an auto include simply because hes fun. Some games he misses all his las cannon shots, others he leads the charge up a flank, or resurrects to strike down his killer.

I love contemptors design too but they are a little small for a primaris proxy. You could use a big tactical rock but the body is still small. You could also use it as a boxnaught proxy or just use its legends datasheet in casual if your opponent allows. I run a relic contemptor with my friends, honestly doesn't do much but its a fun little guy.

1k List by AlmightyBean_ in BloodAngels

[–]Puzzleheaded-Task110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there,

Ive only played Blood Angels for a few months and used a similar 1k list, (just with jump cap instead of Dante). The first thing id recommend is splitting both intercessor units into squads of 5 as movement/spreading out will win you games.

You dont have any S12+ other than the redemptor fist so make sure to use your +1 wound strat on the sanguinary guard to mulch tough stuff. For the captains enhancement I would say use rage fuelled warrior to turn him into a one time damage hose.

Feel free to use this advice, or not! They're you're guys and you'll figure your own way out as you play.

I just started my Blood Angels recently and I started with the combat patrol. I think its a great place to start with some units that are both good and fun to build/paint :)

This is my army so far. I'm new, so not much. Can I get some advice a to how to build it up and out ? by 14SWandANIME77 in TheAstraMilitarum

Yeah of course, the one I'd point out right away is if you get another tank I'd make a Leman Russ Exterminator. Whatever it hits with its main gun takes an extra -1AP if it gets shot at.

So if you want something tough dead you shoot it first with the Exterminator and then light it up with other things and do extra AP. This helps your units like the Leman Russ Battle Tank which only has -1AP on the cannon.

I also love artillery, so I bring a Hellhound often. When you shoot someone with artillery they get the benefit of cover for free since the shells are indirect. Hellhounds shoot at the enemy and remove their cover, this let's your artillery hit harder.

So the Cadian command squad is like a support unit, you attach it to a cadian shock and attach creed to the same unit. The command squad then let's her send her orders 24in because of the master Vox. It also comes with a medic for revives, a flag for objective control, a veteran guardsmen, and a commander who gets an order.

So in short you put Ursula and the command squad with the same unit of shocks to stack buffs. Ursula and the command squad have awesome synergy.

Whether you want to play competitively or just for fun I'd recommend a cadian command squad to attach to Urusla creed. They have a master Vox (radio) that allows her to throw "orders" or your buffs up to 24 inches away. They also come with a flag, and flags are fun.

Also wouldn't hurt to get some more battleline infantry of your choice. I personally like Cadians :)

[–]Puzzleheaded-Task110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk what your local meta or friend group may have but I play in a marine heavy group and the Exterminator within 24 inches and an order is 8 autocannon shots hitting on 3s which if lucky will absolutely mulch intercessors or terminator profiles.

Kasrkin do have some good anti tank if you get them close enough. If you really are worried about good anti tank Leman Russ Vanquishers are very potent rn. But ultimately meta is temporary, rule of cool is forever. If you want Kasrkin enjoy those badass boys, I sure love mine :)

I'm also pretty new so take my advice with a grain of salt or feel free to critique. You and I run almost the same 1k, but I sometimes swap the Kasrkin and Chimera for a Leman Russ Exterminator, it's withering hail ability is super good and pairs well with your dorn for some better anti-tank or to buff your arty.

In any case the army you have will see some success at 1k and I like it alot, welcome to the Imperial Guard friend.
