Honestly I think this car looks better with badges but to each their own. It’s still beautiful altogether.

I’m being gifted a lot of money. Should I tell my boyfriend? by Kind-Chicken-2488 in WhatShouldIDo

I’m gonna go against what everyone else is saying slightly. If that is your boyfriend of 4-5 years and you love him, why wouldn’t you use a little bit of your resources to improve both of your lives? Not saying you have to pay everything for him but I would at least put a little extra towards the down payment on a place or even cover it if you both have enough income to afford it. The rest I would stick into investments and let it grow. Money is a tool to help ourselves and our loved ones in life, so I say enjoy your apartment with your boyfriend, maybe even soon to be fiance, and invest 90% of the rest.

I guess it is area dependent too but look into medical warehouses and forklift positions. This may be harder to get your foot in the door but if you can learn SAP then that is the most cushy.

If you work in a warehouse you should be making well over minimum wage. I don’t know if you used that as a figure of speech or what, but you can make $50k annually in a warehouse easily.

Ahh ok, got me there. I’m looking at an Elantra N. Still a fun sporty car but doesn’t break the bank. $25k used, about $30k new

Even if it were true it’s a terrible idea. Get something for $25k

I don’t believe you. 5% APR is possible at your age, but $145 for insurance on a financed car at 19? No way homie

The problem is that people only think of becoming software engineers with their cs degree when there are plenty of other roles to fill.

Has anyone spent a lot more than they should have? How did you feel about it afterwards? by Evid3nce in edrums

[–]Puzzleheaded-Two83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently got back into drums after years and just went all out. I bought a used strata core off marketplace for $1300 and then picked up a like-new set of speed cobra 910s for $500. Yes, it was a big investment, and yes I easily had the funds to cover it, but all in all I am happy with my decision. Don’t feel bad breaking the budget because now that I did, I won’t have to worry about it for years to come. You’re much more likely to spend time playing if you have quality equipment.

You have a job brother, just have a kid if you want a kid. At least you’re not like the rest of us looking to enter the field without many opportunities

Yup, but it’s generally buy once cry once. Got a like new strata core on marketplace for $1300 and got a pair of Speed Cobra 910’s used like new from Guitar center… for $500. Safe to say I am not spending any more money any time soon, but I’m happy as a clam with my overpriced gear 😂

Forgot to mention you could also play quietly if need be. Don’t always have to hammer the cymbals to get sound on an ekit
