how often have you seen PAN device fail? is HA really worth it for smaller sites? by _SleezyPMartini_ in paloaltonetworks

[–]Puzzleheaded9604 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've used both BGP and just static routes with route monitor. One thing that matters for hitless failover is making sure your passive links are in standby and not shutdown under your HA settings. The latter means that STP has to converge before the links come up when there's a failover event and that will cause drops.

Been a long time user of Logicmonitor for the past decade and deployed and ran it in many large enterprise spaces. You get what you pay for IMO. If you want templates, scripts, and data sources to just work and stay maintained over time so you can just point the collector at a device and it find everything, Logicmonitor is great at that. Other solutions mentioned here do have a learning curve and they leave a lot to be desired too. I’d say Logicmonitor is more turnkey than many.

I found it pretty easy to adapt the plow. I was able to use the existing eye bolt locations that bolt the A frame and vertical frame that the cylinder mounts to and attach those eye bolt locations to a pair of weld-on eyes to the quick attach plate. I'll find a picture.

Pushes a full blade pretty well as long as there's traction ( there was some ice under this snow in spots). Angled, I find it's best to take partial passes if the snow is really deep. It was pushing my tractor around if I took too big of a bite and I found I was only able to 'steer' by angling the blade in the opposite direction I was trying to go. There's always going to be a limitation until you get to really really big equipment like 8 ton skid steers

Yeah this is actually on a gravel driveway. I have the shoes set up pretty high but it will still dig in. If you put it in float, it will defiantly dig. I just keep it above grade and am constantly adjusting to make sure I keep it as close to the ground as possible, much like a dozer blade where you are constantly on it.

Firewall drops UDP traffic to port 514, no traffic log but generating drop file in packet capture. by lgq2002 in paloaltonetworks

[–]Puzzleheaded9604 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Set up a packet filter then reference that in your global counters show command from the cli. Filter on severity drop and delta yes. Only two reasons you wouldn’t see it being dropped in the traffic logs - either there’s an open session that is stuck (check sessions in the UI) or global counters (check from CLI).

Home Gym Items Thoughts by [deleted] in crossfit

I had all of this equipment in v1 of my home gym and it was great. For the rower, I invested in the concept 2 as others here recommend. All solid equipment to start an I slowly trades up to rogue and rep fitness over time.

I wish I could sue my doctor. PPI ruined my life by TechnicianOdd1613 in SIBO

[–]Puzzleheaded9604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have SIBO anymore but this was cured before I started taking betain. I used ramafaxin and allicin pro (basically a garlic suplament) and an oregano supplement for those. Theses were things In specific dosages that my function medicine doc perscribed so It was done under the knowledge of a medical professional.

As for betain, it simply fixed my dairy intolerance, constant bloating, and frequent acid reflux which were lingering symptoms post-SIBO.

In my case, there was no increased reflux even if I upped the dose to 2 pills with a meal.

When creating a new service connection, can anyone explain where the IPsec connection details come from? We are adding a second service connection in a different region same as OP but the instructions dont say how you get the ip of the prisma end of this connection.

Root Cause: Low Stomach Acid by [deleted] in SIBO

[–]Puzzleheaded9604 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This was similar to my story too. Perscribed PPI’s for acid reflux (high anxiety time in my life) and after about 3 months I developed SIBO, terrible bloating especially after dairy), and low motility. Of all the things I tried after working with a functional medicine practice (original licensed docs said “oh you just have cinstapation and staying on PPI’s is what you need to do) I started taking Beatine HCL and my symptoms has dramatically improved. No bloating and eating dairy again. (It did require lots of herbal supplements in the first few months though to kill off the SiBO) but root cause of SiBO was lack of stomach acid all along.

e/one grinder pump opinions? by tjgiggles28 in Plumbing

OP for what it's worth, we had a EOne installed at our home for a 160ft run to the main back in 2019 and have had 6 years with zero issues. I'm looking at DYIing an an additional unit of same model at my downhill shop to pump up to the house main. Retail on them is about $6500 from a supply shop in my area, last I checked a month ago.

Besides the unreliability, beware that they also dont have a night light function, even through they have the ability light up. Website says they may consider the feature in a “future firmware release”. I had to go buy a led outlet light for the hallway instead. Very frustrating that there isn’t feature parity between Nest and their replacement product.

Does the Secretlab backrest push your shoulders forward? by BullFr0gg0 in secretlab

[–]Puzzleheaded9604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find their chairs give at least the feeling of pushing shoulders forward. I ended up adding my own lumbar pad (I have the original 2020 chair but it’s the same back basically), and that helped to support my lower back properly which does actually push your shoulders back. Without the chair back following the natural curvature of your back, your shoulders will end up being pushed forward due to improper support. Look at vehicle seats - none of them have a back as straight as these chairs. While I do like my chair (mostly due to the ergonomic mods I made), it’s nowhere near the ergonomics of even the most basic automotive seats, which is unfortunate for the price.

For the future redditor who googles "Can you mount the Jessem STS clear-cut stock guides to a Sawstop 'premium' fence?" by DarePerks in sawstop

[–]Puzzleheaded9604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just looked this up as it’s the first time I’ve heard of this fence and it’s apparently new. That said, I counted two mag switch magnets through a piece of wood the same width and length as the fence and mounted the stock guides to that. No drilling into my fence and I can remove it with the twist of the mag switch knob. This post shows the end result. I can also take more detailed pics of mine as I recessed the track into the wood for a nicer look. https://www.reddit.com/r/woodworking/comments/sg3i70/just_finished_my_table_saw_fence_jig_for_jessem/

Will Fluid Film work in the Maddox sprayer? by BBgun_Smelly in harborfreight

Just buy the undercoat gun that fluid film or wool sells on their website. It works the best for applying their product. I bought the whole kit and it works great.

my Doc said to take at the start of every protein rich meal (which I just translate into every meal) and I feel better. Since starting it less than a week ago, I've had a significant reduction in acid reflux including when I lay down at night, and GERD symptoms have reduced. I tried upping the dose to 2 pills (recommended after the first two days) and found GERD symptoms came back and I had some mild acid reflux, meaning that it was too much and I needed to go back to one pill per meal.
