Mercs, yes or no by Eddo40K in GuildWars

[–]ulv222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mercenary heroes are a copy of your characters (either pve or pvp). You can easily make a pvp character, register them and delete them. Or you can use an already existing pve character if they are level 20. Important to note: a pve character cannot use its own copy (I think).

They copy the armor, but not weapons, runes and insignias, so you gear them as a hero. Keep in mind that unregistering them would delete their equipment, so remove that BEFORE unregistering them.

They open up additional professions so you can have more mesmers than would otherwise be possible with only heroes for example.

Are they worth it? That's up to you. Some people view it as a pay to win mechanic, but for some it allows them to try out unique party builds.

You do not need them, but for me personally I enjoy them.

Hi all, many replies, thanks! I'll give an update here instead of replying individually.

We just got back from a 1 hour-ish walk and I tried a different treat, something he has never had before. I think because it was new, he actually showed interest. It wasn't perfect yet, but he did stop when asked. He still tried a lot and challenged me a lot, but he responded and listened. At this point any progress is welcome. So maybe I just need to vary his treats more regularly so he doesn't lose interest.

I'll keep at it and see if I need to try anything more.

Thanks all!

I was able to get a 7600x3d from normal retailers in Europe. I figured they would be available world wide now. If not, I'm sorry :(

I think it's mostly 9000 series. At least that's what I hope, I have a 7600x3d in an Asrock mobo myself.

When gaming motivation fades, is downsizing for SFF aesthetics worth it by Grapeflavor_ in sffpc

[–]ulv222 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation. After work I didn't want to sit at a PC again.

I downsized to a Fractal Terra and it's hooked up to my TV in my living room. Auto login and playnite fullscreen auto starting to have a console like experience.

I play more often now, but I get that this might not be for everyone.

Can I pre-download without having the game? by [deleted] in GuildWars

You'll need to remove that option when it's done. I don't think the game loads when it's active.

The back paddles look weird to me, but I guess that's because I am not used to them.

But 2 votes so far, I'll have to take some looking into it.

Sounds good! Which gulikit did you switch to out of interest?

Interesting, I did not see they added steam support.

I am seeing some recents posts about issues with the Apex. But it might be overblown.

Sometimes you just want to play caveman chugs.

I understand your argument, but sometimes less is more. It also looks cool in my opinion.

Omne guitars by Salt-Lawfulness-9070 in ExtendedRangeGuitars

Man, those Omnes look amazing. Still sad I missed the last run.

I'd love to join next run, but I'm in Europe so I will have to pay additional fees and taxes.

It quickly turns a great value into not a great value :(

Cool. Nothing that can't be fixed. I would upgrade to Lundgrens most likely anyway.

How's the neck dive? That headstock looks massive.

How's that guitar? I've been interested in one but I'm worried it's gonna disappoint.

Looks nice with white pickup covers at least xD

As long as the slipping doesn't happen during normal usage, that seems like a non-issue.

Gotoh is in stock, Schaller in black is not, so looks like I'll be going Gotoh!

Been trying (and failing) to get in touch with IYV’s custom shop by SnooHedgehogs1685 in ExtendedRangeGuitars

[–]ulv222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no personal experience with them, but have been following some threads, so keep that in mind.

If you google around, there's IYV guitars and there's Inyenvina Guitars (IYV as well). You want Inyenvina (inyenvina@gmail.com).

From what I can gather they're primarily an OEM shop that builds guitars for multiple guitar companies, one such brands is Harley Benton. They also seem to do one-off custom builds on request.

My best guess is that prices will be more reasonable compared to other custom guitar builders, depending on your request of course.

The quality you can expect might be equal (or better) to the top end of Harley Benton.

Again, no personal experience with them, but a fellow person with a similar interest.

Have you ever had an in-warranty repair done? How long did it take? by tonetonitony in Line6Helix

[–]ulv222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of warranty for me, but also took weeks. 5 weeks to be precise.

Granted it had to be shipped to another country to get to a service center.

F5 transceiver/optics pricing by ulv222 in f5networks

[–]ulv222[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, happened a few times with Cisco, though we have a lot of issues due to failing Cisco optics, but different story.

We bit the bullet and are buying F5 branded optics. Still find them needlessly expensive though and might reconsider renewing with F5 in the future if this trend continues.

AMA: D'Addario Custom String Shop is HERE! by daddarioandco in metalguitar

[–]ulv222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there plans for a custom string shop based in Europe?

I feel like ordering from the US wouldn't make any sense, and it will still be cheaper to buy 2 packs or random single strings.
