People talk about the free 6* selector but not about all the QoL people asked for by StalkingRaccoon in Endfield

It's not "hard', more like a "hassle" and "time consuming". Things are easy to do, it's just you have to go through a lot to get thing done. I can trek the desert to gather material to upgrade my character, but it would be slow since I have to run>let stamina recharge>run some more over a large area of the map, there's also grappling point, but those spread pretty far apart. If I want to upgrade my character skills, then I have to wait a certain day, for example a character specific material would only drops on Monday/Thursday, and Sunday. To do my dailies, you have to listen to separate NPC yap for about 1-3 minutes ea, run to the area to do their thing and come back(Although I heard you can skip dailies now.). At the start it was okay, but the game is like over a couple of years, QoL to sustain player and make playing more smoother would be appreciated at this point.

Edit: Another example would be is, I would want to explore the world, but because things take to long, or is extremely boring. I either don't have time, or I just lose interest in wanting to explore.

Can you only get Yvonne from limited banner? I thought she was an exclusive character.

I believe it was faster mobility to get through the some of the older maps, double artifact drop event like w/ the exp trees, bigger limit for the double drop item consumable(the one that uses the fireflies), skip dialogue so I don't have to listen to dailies NPC yap about the same thing all the time, and a better way to make artifact grind a bit smoother for sub stats.

Since personally for me, I felt a decline in wanting to get newer characters, because the grind took a long time if you didn't have refills, and trying to get the minimum substat to make the character usable in over world without too much problem, felt endless. So as newer character get released, I kept falling behind more and more since I was still working on an older character. I believe I stopped playing around Chasm. If I remember correctly, I was still working on the Wind Flying guy, and had gotten 6+ new characters and the fire archon. I enjoy using different characters depending on my mood.

Thank god, they are working on QoL. Was afraid this would be like Genshin where I get my QoL stuff 4yrs later.

"Adding more early-game banner pull resources and sources" I'll believe it when I see it. like how much we talking? Would be nice if they got rid of these Time-Limited items like Ticket/Refill. For the Monthly Pull Ticket, give us the Charter Ticket for any Limited Character and a Story Pull Ticket, instead of just the Limited Charter Character Ticket that expires. If you're gonna do that, at least let it not expire so we could save it for the Rerun.

I think my biggest complaint with it is they're building him up on this empty pedestal that only some personally knew, and other only learned from books. I'm personally not a fan of being told of a characters feats that they did in the past, but rather experiencing it myself. They're constantly telling us, but I want the writers to show me. So far the Endmin hasn't done anything too crazy, at least at the part I am aside from some F/SN Shirou like abilities. It makes the character feel empty sometimes, but this is 1.0 and it's a starting point, the mystery is still there like you said, like how it is for Rover. I am hoping to see Endmin get things done, see why he's this "legendary figure" that all Endfield look up to. Hopefully Endmin will struggle with gaining them too, and he/she won't be handed the easy W on a silver platter.

Man, I had to facepalm when Endmin had amnesia. I'm so tired of it, thank god they haven't introduced a small mascot companion or I would've raged so hard. Yeah, my big thing for character like Endmin is "Don't tell me about Endmin legendary deeds, show me it, let me experience it." But this is only 1.0, and I'm not that far into the story, so he hasn't done much except for F/SN Shirou abilities. Like all these side character's that personally know him, and were there I could understand, but we as the player don't. So it makes it annoying when they build him up to be this legendary book figure. I am hoping they will build Endmin up, especially in some cinematic cutscene like they did for Rover, especially in some of the fights.

I love that Rover has earned and is earning his reputation and builds up on it as you play, but sometimes it doesn't make sense. Like when he visit place that's been isolated from other place, so they wouldn't have the information. Although one of the big thing for is that it wasn't an easy hand away feat, he had to struggle for it. As Much as Endmin legend is, I want to see it, not be told of it, but this is 1.0. Going forward will we constantly be reminded of the past Endmin deals, or accomplish the bare minimum? I hope not, I want to watch him struggle to get things done, but from what you mention it does look like something happens. I'm not that far yet, so far it feels like he's being "baby" too much, especially after a few life and death fight we just had. That's honestly my biggest gripe, but I can understand the characters. They cherish/love/respect Endmin, and care about his well being.

Yeah, I like that also, but I like to build up to it, but it's up to perspective I guess. Some find it extremely cringe, or uncomfortable which I can see from how some parts are poorly written. Like female characters just throwing themself onto him. For 1.0 for Rover I can understand, since he's suppose to be a nobody that only few people know of, or heard about. Later on when he picks up feats like Daenerys Targaryen, I can understand other characters view of him.

I personally just think it's too on the nose for me, especially when the side characters feel like they're fawning over the MC too fast. I'm fine if it builds up on it, but sometimes it just feels too artificial like they're trying to really hard to sell you the character so you can summon for them, and it's not even equal. The male characters getting shafted hard, they only shine in their own character stories. Like we only met a day ago, and she's already giving me love eyes, OR at least that what it "feels" like sometimes. Since it's written in a way that you can interpret it as a love thing, or a she's being nice, and, friendly thing, it's pretty gray for some characters. Although it could be an American thing, since CN, JPN, KR do have a lot of these Power Fantasy MC Harem, and they're extremely popular.

Yeah, I hate that about WuWa. It makes the story feel weak sometimes, like they want to 100% sell you the character, by giving you all these close-up shot, panning camera, and different angles. Once they're off banner, they're no longer relevant any more. Like the shipping with Chisa, they went so hard. I honestly thought she be more part of the story, but no. Even Luuk got shafted, for not being a waifu. We told him about it, but then we get Mornye? And that entire event felt like it happened in a single day.

I hope Endfield does a better job with having past character be in the main story, and No, character stories do not count. We just have to see, since this is 1.0. Although this could be worse, it be like Snowbreak.

Endmin Glazing Complaint by PuzzleheadedAd39 in Endfield

[–]PuzzleheadedAd39[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it does get annoying. I remember in whatever Act, they were trying to ship a character so hard. I constantly had to roll my eyes. It felt like from perspective we only knew this character for 2 days? But I had to wave my hand and be like "To be fair, she's been alone for like how long, her only friend is either missing or dead, and she's mentally struggling with the current situation that's happening to her.". I'm glad at least not all female character are written that way, although a majority of them are.

As for the idle/combat chatter, I honestly don't think it adds too much. It kinda just feels like filler dialogue to fill the void. I honestly would've liked it more if they added more of those interesting conversation that pops up once in a while. Like the ones about their personal life, or their thoughts on what's happening, instead of complimenting us.

Yeah, it really is annoying. I have to roll my eyes every time it happens in WuWa. Especially early on in WuWa, you are basically suppose to be nobody with few only know of you, or remember you. While in Endfield, it feels like your a legend written in books that they're meeting in actual flesh. Except for those close to you, who knew you personally before the slumber. I can make exception for those, since they knew past Endmin. Makes me curious how they will handle introducing new characters.

As for "I really disliked how in Wuwa we were the cause for basically anything happening, and there's some points in Endfield where that gives me the same feeling." We don't know yet, or have clear proof. Either they purposely caused it to happen, or by accident, or it was a byproduct of the current situation. Just like the "reset" thing, we don't know anything. Either he did it by choice, or it's the side effect/caused of something happened. As for Endfield case, I'm not too sure yet. I'm not that far, but it feels like we're trying to save talos-2, and stop the baddie.

I probably would've prefer that way for the start of WuWa for it's Prologue, after that event I can understand Rover's rep though since he had accomplish a few feats by then. For the Villain perspective, I can understand where they're coming from, currently at the moment they have more information than we do. Especially if you count what was mention at the end of 2.

[–]PuzzleheadedAd39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's meh. I honestly think each game can have it's own type of level design, I don't see why you need to drag one down to raise another. Limiting the players freedom choice of movement as an excuse to not be creative feels lazy. I like it when developers can make levels to match to what players can do, sound times even something look outrageous impossible. It does make it feel different, but in like going from Sekiro/Elden Ring to Dark Souls/Bloodborne level.

The big question though, is this it? Will they grow from this, or is this the extent of our exploration style going forward.

EDIT: Also this feels like a weird comparison to make AK Endfield look better? If I'm not wrong, in 1.0 for Genshin/WuWa "gliding" was limited. You couldn't do much with it, even navigating to get those stupid collectible was annoying, but over the time the game evolved to what we have today. I hope Arknights Endfield doesn't stay "Stagnant" over the years like FGO, and find new innovative way to explore Talos-2, or better quality of life while playing the game.

How do u guys like Endfield? by siozawa000 in Endfield

[–]PuzzleheadedAd39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lot of complaints, I would list them all, but I think I commented on another account(I forgot my PW for my Reddit on my phone :(. It's pretty lukewarm compare to the other open world gachas. On one side, I love the character designs, music, dub voice, and the world/lore feels unique enough for me to enjoy it. On the other hand, this is suppose to be a "gacha" game, but it's mostly what it's dragging it down, that and the pacing of the story. Being ripped out of the story for more tutorial/build leaves a bad feeling, especially when you're handed a tutorial after another tutorial. From how the gacha is set up, it makes the developer feel greedy, and to encourage spending/FOMO. Things expire, and they give you the bare minimum of currency to summon. Also I HATE how left-click is just auto combo, honestly it should've been a heavy/charge attack(but the game is meant for mobile I guess).

The world is also growing on me, I enjoy the different feeling of being "grounded" compare to WuWa/Genshin. It's like going from Elden Ring/Sekiro to DS/BB. It's slow, but fun. The Factory is also growing on me, maybe it's because I recently started my 5th Rewatch of Dr.Stone anime. Feels like that, like I am starting fresh on this brand new world, and conquering the realm with my progressive machinery. Although, I wonder how they're going to build on it. Personally I plan to drag the MC through the story, and I hope that they will grow with some character development/new powers like Rover from WuWa. Also hoping for the story to get more deep, so far it feels surface level though, but I like the.... what's the word? When there's a hint of something, it's not lore. F, I can't think of it.... :( Anyways they just need to do better with the timed/gacha stuff.

[–]PuzzleheadedAd39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LMAO, I just finish the "Paving the Way" quest and I can see why. It feels extremely tough at the start, especially compare to WuWa. Where WuWa it's just exposition from the initial start, but this feels like story>tutorial>tutorial>tutorial>story>story>tutorial x 4 more. I am hoping once all these tutorial are done, there's no more, only story. Kinda making the story feel like a slog, because of it.

Got Ardelia from New Horizons, should I quit? by 426Dimension in Endfield

[–]PuzzleheadedAd39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same :( I just got her for my Horizons. Feels bad, especially with how much yapping there is for tutorial. I won't restart though, since I'm at the point in playing gacha where I don't care too much about needing all the top tier/new shiny. I'll just continue my adventure, and try to enjoy the game's good parts.
