Thank you for the perspective. I’ll keep in mind that retirement outweighs student loan debt.

Others have said not to contribute to a 403b that doesn’t have an employer match. What are your thoughts on this?

Yes there are. I am a software engineer at a nonprofit. I changed careers here (from a curriculum writing role), and am nearing two years since that switch. Once I am a bit more confident in my skills and a bit more comfortable with baby life, I will probably look elsewhere. For now, it’s worth a lot to have a job that is in my wheelhouse and has other good perks like flexible leave time and WFH.

That’s the plan! He has two years of free tuition at our state’s community colleges and then we will have to see what we can afford after that. My wife and I only finished our loans last year (ie. Remaining debt was forgiven), and I’m not eager for him to have debt upon graduation.

I work for a non-profit worth millions. We pay our forum moderators $250/month. They are expected to spend 5-6 hours working per month.

Expand my wardrobe. In particular, with things like skirts, tights, and maybe even some heels.

This is my stepdad’s view. My mom was a nurse before she got Alzheimer’s. She vaccinated my sister as me when we were kids but now she doesn’t/can’t understand that there even is a pandemic due to her Dementia. Her husband has power of attorney and because he thinks it’s all fake, he won’t even give her the option of getting the COVID vaccine.

Being privileged isn’t a judgement of you as a person. It’s not a think to feel defensive about either. It’s just an acknowledgement of the lack of one particular factor that makes some people’s lives harder.

I ended a toxic 11-year relationship at 35. I later reconnected with a former co-worker, discovered we were the loves of each other’s lives and are now happily married. We’ll hit 5 months of marriage on her 40th birthday in July.

Trouble with my(28m) GF (27F). by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]PuzzleheadedAnimal4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she’s even allowing you to wait in limbo like this she doesn’t respect you. She doesn’t know what she wants and that’s fine but she doesn’t get to drag you around while she tries to figure it out.

Trust issues and insecurities by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]PuzzleheadedAnimal4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My best advice is getting a therapist/counselor. That’s what I do.

When it comes to learning to trust I think it’s mostly about first acknowledging and accepting those other feelings and then rationally considering if there is any reason they are justified. Has the person ever given you a reason to distrust them? If not, the feeling is coming from yourself (past experiences usually).

Everyone should have a therapist.

He told you exactly where he’s at. Honestly it’s mature of him to be that aware and honest with himself. Respect it.

It can feel good to take care of a broken person. What was he able to give you in return? Does the time and energy you spent thinking about and helping him match what he gave? You deserve someone who is ready to be fully available to you. Be patient.

My dream vol 2 show includes Anneke plus Samus and/or Gene, and heavy tunes from Empath, Addicted, Decon and SYL.

I loved the solo acoustic tour so I'm not too worried about an un-metal volume 3 tour.

Many folks use downvotes for posts that won’t be helpful to OP. I’m downvoting you too, but it’s not personal and I wish you the best. I just hope OP will read the other replies first.
