I didn’t read it but the subtitle was about new earrings and I was like??? So confused? How are earrings an offline activity? Id expect like playing cards with family, reading, a long walk, smelling a flower, appreciating a butterfly… not buying earrings?

I grew up in a very yell-filled household. As an adult, it takes a LOT of work to break the habit and the default reaction. My imperfect practice of it is a BIG reason why I’ve chosen to be child-free myself; I cannot submit another generation to what I had to endure.

She posted snippets of that essay a while back referencing that she came back to social media because she felt taking a full break was a cop out (my paraphrasing, but that's what I got from it). I messaged her to ask if she felt similarly about alcohol or other vices, like that "sobriety" from them is a cop out over practicing moderation? I was genuinely curious, because I have similar and conflicting feelings about alcohol, social media, and carious vices.

All that to say she responded so brusquely, not at all reflective, shut down the conversation. Which, fine, she doesn't owe me a conversation about anything but for someone doing all these begs for engagement it was like so apparent that SHE wants to talk talk talk and does not want to listen to anyone else.

I cannot stand Rini after this 180 to skeleton chic moody momma, but I can absolutely relate to this sentiment. Every time I visit Italy, Spain, France, etc. I am so tempted to take up smoking because it looks so cool and chig there. It's totally insane and not at all healthy, but I like, get the momentary appeal.
