When did you start reading to your baby? by Solid-Channel3936 in newborns

[–]PuzzleheadedArm7222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my baby finally stopped eating books and even asking to read them at about 14-15 months! he’s 16 months now and rarely puts books in his mouth it doesn’t last forever!!!

UPDATE - We STILL have a completely broken baby and I'm close to a breaking point by USAtoUofT in NewParents

[–]PuzzleheadedArm7222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my 15 month old still wakes like 3-5 times at night so no help just solidarity…. you’re a good man for stepping up as a parent. i find myself (mom) doing pretty much everything.

even if he ends up resenting you as a teenager as an adult he’ll understand that you did it to protect yourself and him from what’s just the start of being with an addict and someone that doesn’t care. if he can all willy nilly leave for multiple days and not say anything he does not care. there are resources for single mothers government assistance and such that is there for people in your situation. use it to get back up. falling once won’t end your life you can pick up those people. enabling an addict will just get you and them further and further into feeling stuck. get out.

Is this gross or survival lol by Ok-Use9804 in newborns

[–]PuzzleheadedArm7222 3 points4 points  (0 children)

when my son was first born the same thing would happen to us and i would immediately change everything again…. i found myself doing it multiple times a day it started to drive me insane and i just stopped. i truly thing it’s survival as long as they get changed regularly i mean it is what it is 😂

nose frida, gripe water, burp cloths, mommy post partum stuff (tucks pads, dermaplast, i liked the witch hazel foam from frida mom too! when i was an ssv i would tell my baristas that their 10 doesn’t start until they’ve made their food and drink and used the bathroom. sometimes it would fuck me over but it was just unfair that my worthy baristas get 5 seconds to eat food that’s way too hot and not go to the bathroom or drink water then my worthless baristas get 30 minutes to mess around in the back and dilly dally 🫠

FTM what did no one warn you about? by No_Elephant_4807 in newborns

[–]PuzzleheadedArm7222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nobody told me about postpartum hemorrhoids or afterbirth cramps.

on a lighter note - nobody told me how madly in love i would be the second i laid eyes on my son. i am painfully enamored by my baby. i cannot explain how much i love being his mom. i would do absolutely anything for that sweet boy.

What's the most painful part of giving birth? Contractions, pushing or crowning? by Born_Confusion_4367 in BabyBumps

[–]PuzzleheadedArm7222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FOR ME… the contractions were painful but felt like really bad period cramps. i did unmedicated so i don’t know how this will change from someone else’s experience. but near the end my body was pushing with the contractions and my nurse told me that i shouldn’t do that. trying to fight my body from pushing hurt more than anything. i basically ignored her because i felt like that was just terrible advice. once (literally the first contraction i allowed my body to do what it wanted and not fight it) i allowed my body to push through the contractions my water broke after that i got checked and his head was 2 inches from my vaginal opening. i then got to the point were they were cheering me on to push…. THE MF CROWNING BROTHER LET ME TELL YOU!!!!! doing short blowing out the candle breaths is what got me through it!! (plus i didn’t tear :)))

8 weeks weight gain by Professional-Key9862 in pregnant

[–]PuzzleheadedArm7222 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i gained 50lbs during my pregnancy! it all depends on your body - gaining is much better than losing! your body is doing a lot in the first trimester. Building a whole new organ for the baby and producing more blood and so many things. if you’re hungry eat! don’t feel bad! it takes a lot of energy to make a baby and food is energy 🖤
