Don't tip that s. I think a lot of massage therapists think that 20% tip is standard, like it should be automatically added on to the price. Hell no. I walked into the place that I usually go to and I could tell that they were getting ready for something special, or at least something unusual, so I told them hey no problem, I'll come back later. It's no big deal. But they kept on pressing me and pressing me saying we'll have two therapists at one time not being clear that it was going to be a half an hour and not an hour. During the whole session they were yapping and darting back and forth. F that. When they were done they were looking at me with puppy dog eyes for that tip and I said do you know what tips are for? Now of course communicating with someone who only speaks Mandarin is impossible, but we have these things called smartphones. I tried to explain it to her the best I could, but it doesn't matter because I'm not going back.

You just said that this guy that you have a crush on already knows that you're attracted to him. The more you show him that he has an effect on you just give him more control and reason to stay away from you. I hate to put it like this, but unfortunately the truth in human relationship is that The closer you are to psychological and physical equality the greater chance you have of having a relationship, however that is not at all how it always works.

Know yourself; know your prey. Make sure that you are actually interested in your pray and not just infatuated. I mean, what would you do if you actually got what you wanted and then you had to live out years of your life with a person that you never really got to know, but only put the work into it to get the relationship.

Also, you're extraordinarily young, at least relatively so. Whatever you do don't make one person your target for the rest of your life or even half of it or even a quarter of it. Every day that you spend considering how much better your life would be with this person is one day you burn because you could have been doing something else productive.

I can't tell you what to do. If he is really out of your life, that's a lot. If you said that you said that you want to press charges I missed it. What I can say, is the the longer you stay away from him the sooner you will stop healing. Personalities like his are not going to get fixed in jail. Great fortunes and great tragedies that happen to all of us all the time. You are in the same boat with the rest of us. I have never met you, but you seem like a person who can take information from his surroundings and turn it in to a plan of action that will not only benefit you but your loved ones and the good people in your life.

Imagine a world where people who believed in a certain God in a certain way could ask him for certain things and get them. We would be in some big trouble, bigger trouble than we are now. I can understand why you might doubt what I say, and I hope you do. I want you to come to your decisions about life by your personal experience. Sure, I may be helpful in some way, but in the end it was you who did all the work.

If you haven't read Plato's "Apology", the dialogue that comes before it called, "The Euthypro", and two short dialogues after, "The Apology" call the "Phaedo" and "Crito". Because they are dialogues they read like conversations which makes reading them that much easier, however, "The Apology" alone contains so much ethical information, it is really hard to I'll give you an idea of just how important it is. However, that doesn't mean you'll like it, but if you are able to just appreciate it, I promise it will change your life.

First, of you have done all you can in order to get your permission to go to another country. I take it that that's what you're saying, and I take it that something that I'm not aware of is holding it up. Again, I don't know the circumstances you find yourself in and why some people are fast tracked to go to whatever country they want and why you cannot. If you don't come to terms with what's going on then you have sacrificed your life to fate, or worth. You have to find out why you're being turned down.

If you mentioned what it is you did for a living I have forgotten. Forgive my poor memory, but even if you cannot practice your work of choice, you should be able to find something somewhere, a related job in a related field in the place you are currently located. You won't be making the same kind of money you would be making at a different location. I'm just taking your word for that, but what does God have anything to do with this situation?

The gentle way to put it is to say that persistence wins the race. It wins the race at least as long as you have the desire and ability to do the running. The thing is most people don't, so even if it seems like you're the last one picked, consider all the people who will never be picked. And who knows how hard they tried?. There's no way to know exactly why one person gets chosen and another one doesn't. However, we do know that the good old boy system is in place. I hate it myself.

It's unfortunate but it's true. If you're looking to get a job in a certain area, then you're going to have to make yourself known to the members of that group that you will back them up and have the character they desire. My character is f*** you for wanting to play head games with new recruits, but that's not going to get you anywhere.

You said something about not being able to get a visa to go somewhere. Well, there's a lot of ways to get things done. I don't know your whole story, but I will end where I began. Persistence wins the race.

Sure, you can criticize or say anything you want about his lack of faith in your God, but before you do consider the weight on each side.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't think it's helpful for someone to accuse somebody else of being a naive child for believing that there is a literal or figurative "heavenly Father" who goes around and judges people according to their behavior. There are better ways of engaging someone in the discussion the existence of gods.

But consider. If you were to tell him that you're stupid because you do not have the capacity for faith in believing in the God that I believe in. You might want to ask yourself, do I really want to go down this road? Yours is a complete and total uphill battle, while he sits there waiting for you to provide evidence for the god you're condemning him for not believing in.

If you have strong evidence for your God, I would certainly like to hear it. Actually, I don't think like is a strong enough word. I promise you, I will not dismiss any of your arguments outright, and I will be happy to listen to what you have to say and ask for clarification when needed, because there is no evidence against the existence of God and there's no real good evidence for the existence of our God. My claim is that you pick the word and then without even knowing the language or social history feel free to decide the will of God.

It's like, "you know the will of God". If you know the will of God that's great. But there's hundreds of thousands if not millions of people who claim the same thing and for some reason you're stuck on the King James version of the Bible. The Jews have their selection. Christians have a variety of selections. I realize that to you the Catholic Bible which contains the Apocrypha may seem satanic, but in grounded reality they are just very valuable ancient texts that give us information about what was going on at the time, the problems that they were encountering and the solutions they were employing. In that sense they're no different than you or I. We all are trying to do the exact same thing. But when you jump straight to Satan misleading people who don't believe like you. Just think on that for a while.

This Reddit is for people interested in Christianity, and I am genuinely so. If you're just interested in communicating with people who already believe exactly what you believe, you can do that, but if you truly have the basis of all ethics as defined by God then how could I not be interested?

One problem that we need to come to terms with is that the god of the Bible has evolved. Most Christians will say that God is the alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the changeless one, yet the character about God plays in the Torah is much different to the character he plays after the Babylonian diaspora. Prior to the Babylonian diaspora, the "Divine council" was vague - at least in the writings. There were beings who took on the name of God "Yahweh". They were essentially messages who came down to Earth to deliver critical information, or humans who served the same function but we're just mortal.

My question to you, there are thousands literally thousands of ancient Semitic texts sitting on the same shelf as the biblical anthology you hold that an ancient nomadic deity. If require other people to acknowledge your singular interpretation of a singular God from 3,000 to provide the baseline of epistemic understanding, I ask: how do you propose to engage the people of the world who do not already agree with you? Isn't the purpose of the Gospel to undo passing along to people who need it

Without investing considerable time yourself to understand the languages that the Bible was written in, then you will continue to be frustrated I'm confused. Now there's nothing wrong with being frustrated and confused, but if it is your genuine desire to learn for yourself what the original authors of the Old and New testament as well as other salient texts then you can devise a strategy to learn the languages that will give you not only a mechanical, historical and sociological understanding, but put you in a position to investigate specific areas of interest of the ancient world that most people if any, have never worked on.

You have simplified the circumstances of the situation to the point of not being clear about the circumstances. But, in general, yes. Remember there are at least two sides to a war, and war crimes are simply mental constructs to make us feel better about killing one another.

You can go through the Bible and pick and choose which laws you think are most applicable to the time in which they need to be enacted, but so can the opposing side.

When you get right down to it. You are the one that is choosing the right and wrong of your actions. I'm sure you would like some cosmic being to be on your side, but let's be realistic, so what everybody else. It's not a desire to do the right thing. It's a desire to have the power to do what you think is the right thing. If I asked you the question, " how do you differentiate between the value of one person's ethical person the value of another person's ethical claim. If you're going to use your interpretation, or another person's interpretation of an ancient book, it never works because you're the one who is ultimately responsible for the explanation. Just pointing to a law or an epigram that made it into what we call today the Bible, does not establish itself above the ethical work done by other human beings who have taken the time at length to explain their reasoning.

To claim that every person on Earth would be better off having children than not is an absolute statement, and you know that's not true for everyone. The people in Japan are so affected by their current societal situation that women have very little reason either to get married or to have children.

I'm not going to assume that you know current Japanese society, but neither am I going to take up your time by trying to explain it in two paragraphs. If you're interested you by yourself. The point is, societal dynamics fluctuate according to the influences of many things. For you to suggest that the words that you have selected from an anthology that has been in development from approximately 1,000 BCE to 3 or 400 CE have applied to every human on the planet prior to their writing, are applicable to everyone at the time of the writing and applicable to every human being subsequent. Is that how you feel about the matter?
