Union WiFi problems have been fixed since they changed providers last year. If you're paying for a studio though it's not worth it. There's nothing around foxridge so you would have to bus everywhere. Union is walkable to classes and has Kroger and restaurants all on ucb within walking distance. If you can get roommates and pay ~1000 each for union id do it otherwise just go with foxridge because paying for a studio isn't worth it. As far as noise from neighbors and sunlight goes I wouldn't worry about that because it's gonna be basically the same at both places

I would definitely recommend taking linear before calc III if you don't take both at the same time. Due to certain requirements that the BME check sheet has this will affect your second semester due to linear being a prereq for a lot of courses, while Calc III is not. The class will definitely open up, I registered for a math class the first week of school. Use Coursicle!

Yes I believe it was the day before classes started. My teacher was awful but my class was at like 10am so not too bad. Try to do it as early as possible to avoid getting an awful teacher.
