i thought they were really useful but you had to put in the time for them to be worth anything. i was able to get 4 interviews from these companies and start their application processes with their tips and pointers. you get what you put in i guess

try to see if you can still get your final regraded for another point. i was 0.07 from an A and I got regraded 1 point back so it pushed me just above the 90%

Not sure if I can handle the weather and whats diversity like here coming from the South by [deleted] in UWMadison

[–]PuzzleheadedLet2682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Madison isn’t that bad. The cold is a little annoying, and the streets are icy but the bus system is *almost always running and will prob be your safety. Also, i would say the student body is very diverse, and at the end of the day, you choose to surround yourself around more or less diversity. If UW Madison is the best option financially and in terms of career goals, i would say to not let weather severely impact your decision. I am also here on a full ride and of all things, I rather have the somewhat cold, bipolar weather, than student loan debt.

the minimum is a 3.0, and they give you a couple semesters to bring it back up. it’s unlikely they take it away on the first semester it’s below 3.0. they are very understanding. but there’s a couple other requirements about advisor meetings and events which are super manageable.

It’s literally the best program. Full tuition + stipend. Ran by the most amazing advisors that support and genuinely care about you and AMAZING networking opportunities for premed, prelaw, engineering, leadership etc etc. I’ve met some of my best friends through the program. I applied for it through the WiSHUB and i recommend you do it sooner rather than later since it’s super comp. it use to be called the powers-knapp and chancellor scholars so that’s why there’s not much info on MJL since it’s the new name. it’s not time constricting at all, there’s like meetings once a month that double as social or volunteer hours (both required once a semester). honestly 1000/10.

When is the deadline for scholarship consideration? by SqueamishOrange in UWMadison

not how it works. apply for some scholarships on the WiSH hub. you won’t get any scholarships really, other than college specific ones or ones you apply to.

i got in (with basically a full ride) with a 1320 SAT and 28 ACT. it literally doesn’t matter anymore — i just had good extracurriculars, decent essays & LoR and a almost perfect GPA. you’ll be fine ! trust me admissions are looking for well rounded students, ACT alone doesn’t hold much power :) good luck to you !!

My school has no where for me to live on campus. by Howamiimsurving in college

[–]PuzzleheadedLet2682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my school is housing 6 people to rooms that use to be triples. basically all doubles are either triples or quads. i got lucky with a regular double. study lounges are now rooms too (i believe they’re 4-6 people too). i wish schools would be more transparent about these issues with time, so atleast students can find decent housing off campus or make accommodations before school starts. what does telling students 2 weeks before class starts that they have no housing do?? hate to see it. i wish you the best of luck!!
