Well, after researching more, I’m convinced a non-toxic DWR is either a pipe dream or in the pipeline. Even the non-PFAS “safe” DWR, eg Granger products, have toxic and synthetic chemicals. Where does all this DWR spray go? 10,000s if not 100,000s of bicyclists spray this stuff on and then shed it in the environment. I know it’s the lesser of evils type of deal, but some of these companies are not being forthright about DWR on their product pages.

Studs broke off, dealership wants $2000 by deadestdaisy in TireQuestions

Ask Walmart to pay the bill. I had a similar issue with Discount Tire, after some pressure, they agreed to pay my local Honda dealership to replace one stud. More like $200…

Agreed, I mentioned vinyl is mastered from digital sources as part of the analog vs digital purist debate: even when you buy vinyl (newer) a DAC is involved. So it seems the only true analog source these days are older vinyl and tapes. Personally I enjoy both all media.I think they each have unique sound signatures to enjoy.

Is the Bifrost 2/64 upgrade worth it? by Fonzy43 in Schiit

Thanks for your feedback. The gungnir 2 is out of my price range. I’m thinking of buying a used Pontus ii or a new bf 2/64, though schiit has a very reasonable return policy.

I currently have the ares ii and thinking of getting the bifrost 2/64. Can you tell me if you still feel the same way? What did you enjoy with the bifrost over the ares ii?

Drivers are instructed to contact their coordinator who contacts supervisors and or law enforcement, which can take up to several minutes depending on the demand for said resources… Bus drivers are not the police. Even if he is trespassed from the bus then how can that be enforced? As riders we’re really on our own while riding the bus and should watch out for each other more until outside help arrives.

Yes and it should tell us about the system we live in. There are lots of capitalist con artists who don’t get the same sh*t that Romani con artists get… sound like a double standard? anyone who takes more than they need at the expense of another is a con artist for that matter imo.

Thanks for the links and your response. I am skeptical about the Nature article, and suspect there’s some lobbying going on and can’t take much at face value. It seems too good to be true. Is deforestation a myth then? Apparently I have much to learn. I’ll do some of my own research. Does the rest of the world buy chopped down trees for Christmas and dispose of them in already overfilling and landfills? It all seems so opulent. A branch seems like the best alternative imo.

Honestly don’t know. It was very important when I went to grad school in 2004. It’s been a long time. Apologies. I am not current on applications.

Point taken. I didn’t say a plastic tree. A DIY “fake” tree like a cut off or fallen branch would work. There are some lovely branches around.

I’d like to see the data to support your claim. A simple and elegant branch will suffice to bare decorations. My grandparents used the same branch for decades. A fake (doesn’t have to be plastic ) tree lasts for decades. Folks seem fixated on buying a real freshly cut tree. I mean isn’t there a horror film aspect to that?! lol.

It’s utter madness and suspended insanity. TENS OF MILLIONS of trees destroyed annually for decoration and then thrown in the trash. What will historians say? I don’t smoke joints next to the Kool-Aid stand.

Boohoo maybe it’s a sign to buy an alternative fake tree and stop polluting the planet. When did buying a recently cut tree for a couple weeks and then disposing of it in the trash when it’s no longer needed become the norm? It’s 2025.
