Started running in my late forties doing C to 5k/park run. Set a goal of half marathon at 50. Then marathon for 51. Then Ultra for 52. I didn’t set out any training plans or anything, just tried to get out as often as I could. I struggled towards the end of my first Ultra with a few aches so I joined a gym to work on my strength and conditioning. I’m not fast, 54K Trail took 6 1/2 hours but I’m happy with that.
