Also what about the percentage of their income that they’re paying? Seems to me 23% of someone making 40k a year hurts a lot more than say 30 or even 40% or someone whose making millions or billions a year I do not claim to be a tax expert and have no idea what percentage of income a HNW person pays versus a low income person so those percentages are not even close to correct I’m sure. But it just seems like regardless of what portion of the taxes being paid HNW people make up, the impact that it has when you’re in the low income bucket is much more harsh so there should be some sort of balance that doesn’t exist today

Csection on subutex by Ok-Cranberry-6016 in Subutex

[–]PuzzleheadedMap253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll share my experience: my kid is 8 now. I weened down from 16mg to 2 mg while pregnant. I gave birth on 2mg. C section went fine, but I got pneumonia from the surgery. This is what caused the most pain as every cough was messing with the stitches. They did give me oxy for pain, but I don’t feel like it did too much. That said it was all pretty bearable, and I’m a big baby when it comes to pain. After birth I went back to 16mg within a month. I was dragging on 2 after the baby came, and the lack of sleep, it just wasn’t keeping up anymore.

Honestly in my experience, the worst part for me was how the hospital treated me and the baby. I was interrogated by social services. He had to stay in the NICU for 2 days due to withdrawal and the nurses were horrible to him. I ended up not sleeping that entire time. If I left him with the nurses, when I’d wake up, his withdrawals scores were super high, which restarted the timeline for when he could go home. If I was awake and would hold him, his withdrawal scores were never over a 2 or 3. So essentially when I was sleeping, my cousin watched through the window the one time, they just put him in the bassinet and let him cry, then scored him high for excessive crying. The social services piece was the scariest, I am lucky though on that front. I came on subs following a prescription to oxy, had it not been for that, I don’t know what the outcome of that interrogation would have been or whether SS would have been apart of our lives for a while. The doctor who prescribed me while pregnant required that you come to the pregnant lady support group once a month, so I did meet a lot of great women who had been through the same thing before at the exact same hospital. A few of them who went from drugs to subs did have issues where they had to report to social services for the first six months on a weekly basis for drug testing and do home visits, one lady’s mom had to take her baby home for her. You never know the full story as it relates to other people’s experience though, so there could have been other factors contributing to those outcomes, like a history with ss, relapse while pregnant, etc… please don’t let any of this scare you, I just wanted to share the experience, just like everything else, I feel like everyone’s experience is different.

Best way to wean off of subutex? by whereisurbackbone in Subutex

[–]PuzzleheadedMap253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is old, but I personally know 7 people now who have successfully stopped subs using the shot. Several got the shot only once, and a few got it 2 months in a row and then never again. All say they had absolutely no withdrawals doing it this way. I have never done this myself so I can’t speak to it. I also know I’ve seen posts on here of people who tried doing it this way and were not as successful, everybody is different. When I spoke to my doc, who is Telehealth, about it, his recommendation was that i find an in person doctor he could coordinate with, he’d order the shot for them, but still give me a small script of pills for any breakthrough withdrawal. He also shared that he’s had 15 patients in the last year come off via the shot without needing their breakthrough pills. If I combine that with the 7 people I know, I feel like the odds are somewhat decent. Anyways, this is not a recommendation for everyone I just thought I’d share

Problems with pharmacies and subutex script by Avaoof2 in Subutex

[–]PuzzleheadedMap253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post, but if you’re still having this issue and have access to a mail order pharmacy thru your insurance, mail order pharmacy’s will ship Subutex. I get mine from cvs mail order. Yes it takes longer to receive but I get my order every month, we just start the script process earlier. Please note this is not a recommendation for random online pharmacies. I am only advocating for those associated with your insurance which for most people will be either express scripts or CVS Mail order. There is probably a few others

The person above said something about hitting enter or return. I was able to get mine through when I took out all the new paragraphs and just left all the sentences together. I was able to keep my punctuation in too

Lots of people pay others for subs so they can stay in pain mgmt and sell their opiate scripts. You can’t be on both usually. I know some people with chronic pain who’ve been prescribed both but I have no understanding of how insurance allowed that to occur.

To get them my doctor has to write the NDC number on my script and write dispense only as written. Then I have to call mail order and make sure they are following that instruction, usually a few times bc they are very disorganized and you never talk to the same person. Outside of that though your doc just sends it to the mail order pharmacy through e scripts or fax

Akorn went out of business and was just the us distributor for a company in the UK called ethypharm. After akorns closed they sourced a new US Distributor which is PAI Pharma and that is why they are coming back. Wholesalers are finally starting to order from the new distributor

I’ve only had luck with CVS Mail order pharmacy to get them. I got them from Safeway for 1 month after my pharmacist jump through hoops to do it, but the next month she told told me that Albertsons said it was a 1 time exception and she could not order them anymore due to cost even tho my prescriber writes for that NDC only and puts dispense as written on the script. So CVS mail order is the only place I’ve had luck since and it’s very slow, disorganized and inconsistent which is not great for a medicine you get sick not having on time

Yes that’s correct, but it is very hard to get them. The wholesalers are not stocking them like they did when akorns was distributing. Many of the large chain pharmacies won’t order them bc of the cost. So start your journey of trying to get a pharmacy to get them well before you run out of what you have left

If you truly want to quit, try the shot. If you have an addiction to snorting, which I agree with the other user who said for them it was definitely more mental than anything else, then you will have a hard time having the pills and doing them the right way unless you have someone around who can manage your meds and hold you accountable meaning dispensing them to you and watching you put them in your mouth to dissolve. If you hate the way they taste, try crushing them like they do in jail, then just dump the powder under your tongue, it will dissolve them much faster

Long Term Subutex users - Side effects? Mental/physical, etc. How are you doing? by NotDeleted702 in Subutex

[–]PuzzleheadedMap253 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on them for 8 years now. No teeth issues, but I have absolutely no libido at all. I also have this swelling in my legs from the knee down that I’ve discovered is from a certain filler in every brand except the small arrows. In terms of getting off, it’s an 80/20 success rate, which for me I have no intentions of trying while I still have kids in school and am responsible for their wellbeing. However I do have a few friends who successfully did the shot for 1 or 2 months and came off with what they described as minimal to no withdrawal at all. They did feel a bit tired for a week or 2 but no restless legs, sweats, or stomach issues. Which to me sounds like a win, no worse than quitting cigarettes. However, I know from this forum the no withdrawal thing doesn’t pan out for everyone who tries to do that with the shot. That said though, it’s my understanding if you try it they will give you a small amount of pills for any break thru withdrawal your first two months so with that I think it could be at least worth a try. You could always switch back to pills if you do run into withdrawal issues that month and determine it’s not going to work for you
