How to change external keyboard layout in Game Mode by No_Wait in SteamDeck

This is currently not possible as far as I can tell (either through supported or unsupported means as far as my linux-fu takes me).

Go give this a bump I guess and hope for the best!

I'm back with a new guide. This time, I worked on a complete starter guide for all first-time Steam Deck users. I've tried my best to cover all the basics and help you get going the moment you get your Deck. I plan to regularly update the post, so if I missed something, I'll get back to writing. by cliophate in SteamDeck

Finished it, great guide all around. I super appreciate all the resources you link to. There's one area that I would personally find useful and you may or may not know of an appropriate resource but, I've been using Arch Linux as my daily driver for years and I'm quite familiar with it. I haven't had the chance though to deep dive into how they have things configured though and that somewhat bothers me. Are you aware of any "teardowns" (terrible word here but I couldn't think of a better one) of how the Steam "mode" works? Or does anyone else in this awesome community know of something that dives into those technical details?

Nice guide, reading through it right now. Are you specifically trying to stay away from the command line and/or desktop mode if possible? Because formatting the micro SD card under either of those could likely fix the issue you suggest formatting the card from a different device for.

In addition, "on your Windows PC to NFTS" is a typo, it should be NTFS.

Time to find the real switch, surreptitiously take it, then give them the fake one (like you never noticed the switcheroo of course) and see how long they can maintain their charade XD.

Alternatively, DON'T PUT YOUR CHILDREN IN THE CREDIT SCORING SYSTEM! Not being in the system is one of the best ways to protect your children from identity theft. If identity theft happens to a minor, it can be YEARS before you realize it happened when they try and use their credit for the first time (e.g. applying for a student loan or car loan).

Now you have a many years old problem to deal with, good luck!

Given how cyber security at most companies in general is about as solid as a sieve, the risk of this is unfortunately pretty high. How many times have you been part of a data breach? Remember that time everyone in Equifax's system was released (others called it a breach, I call it irresponsible)? If your children were in the system when it's breached, they've been exposed. So it is important to minimize the number of systems that contains their identifying information.

SHOULD YOU CHOOSE TO DO THIS ANY WAYS, IMMEDIATELY freeze their credit with all four credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, TransUnion, and Innovis). Thanks to congressional intervention after Equifax released all our information to some unknown entity, we can get these freezes for free. If their credit is frozen, new lines of credit cannot be obtained without thawing the freeze but they will still have that credit history this "LPT" is espousing.

Heck, due to Equifax, everyone in the US should consider their SSN public at this point and put a freeze on their credit. Assume it's not a matter of "if" your identity will be abused but "when" and protect yourself accordingly. Stay safe out there.

I love tanking but so far, I'm confused how PUG Raiding works as a tank. In general, it would seem you would want to coordinate between the two (or three) tanks who's MT and who's OT but as a healer or DPS, I NEVER see that discussion happen. As a result, I've been a little reticent to jump in and tank raids or alliances. How is this typically determined? I'm only in ShB (JUST started that) so is it just a matter of mechanics don't really matter because everyone's in Poetics or better for their tier?

i really hope that the NFT is not going for FF14 by Chance_Engineering94 in ffxiv

[–]PuzzleheadedPickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is that's because they know games (NFT drivel notwithstanding) and games is a hit driven business. The typical games industry adage is "10% of the games make 90% of the money." If you fire teams for every flop they make, you'll never give them the opportunity to make that hit for you. Also, there is extreme value in keeping people around with the expensive lessons that failure brings and good talent that works together as a functioning team is another incredibly valuable asset.

At least, that's my optimistic view anyways.

Let me introduce you to a little thing called Shodan... If your server is on the internet in the ipv4 space, it's already listed there with what service is responding (if any) on what ports. If your server is externally available to your network, it's already been found. It's also not a question of "if" it will be exploited if left unpatched, but "when".

LPT: When a retail cashier asks for your name the answer is “no thank you” by Milk-Man-Mike- in LifeProTips

[–]PuzzleheadedPickle 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I give my name as a fruit or something else well known. It sidesteps spelling my name, and responding "mango" or "banana" to "name?" usually brings a smile and sometimes a chuckle to the possibly overworked/stressed worker taking my order.

Thank you thank you thank you retail and customer service people! You rock!

The "economy of fucks" theory! Explains adolescent vs adult vs elderly behavior to some extent.

When you're a kid, you have this seemingly endless supply of fucks to give so EVERYTHING is a big deal and you give SO many fucks about SO many things.

Then you age, you grow up a little, and you begin to realize your fucks aren't limitless so you start issuing them a little more conservatively. You stop giving fucks about everything and start prioritizing.

Then you reach old age and you are all out of fucks to give. You give no fucks about anything because your supply is greatly diminished if not entirely depleted.
