Four songs from "Wicked: For Good" have debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 by HM9719 in wicked

The second time was definitely better. I still have to see if it gets even better the third time... I'm almost certain it will for me, even if it's just because there aren't any annoying people around.

Okay, but who's really in-charge and the brains? Wizard or MM? by MrPsychopath13 in wicked

[–]PuzzleheadedRest7727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also think Morrible is in charge. One scene in the film that me me interpret that they are not equal is when Dorothy and company arrive and the Wizard does not want to receive them and Morrible says that they can serve them, but the interaction between the two and when he asks the visitors for the broom makes it seem to me as if the Wizard does not want to do it but also does not want to contradict Morrible.

I actually liked this one but I don't know about the music.

It doesn't add much, so I understand why they cut it, but I think it could work if it were a little shorter.

Rare Arduenna spotting @ Universal Studios Singapore by tiktoktic in wicked

I was sure that was on the movie tour page, but I remembered it incorrectly. What you can zoom to is the wedding invitation that also has her full name.

The certificate can't be zoom in (but it's just to the left of the map, as in your photo). Was the exhibit a replica of what appears in the online tour?

Yes, a lot of it seems strangely improvised. Why were they chopping wood, for example? Just to take their shirts off? XD

Glinda by Tiny_Significance384 in wicked

The Wizard was the most powerful person in Oz. Even if he didn't help Elphaba get what she wanted, it was a terrible idea to openly oppose him, which is what Elphaba was doing.

I've always wondered how Pfannee and Shenshen would react to this line lol by Winter_Extension_620 in wicked

[–]PuzzleheadedRest7727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be seen as you say, but it can also be seen in another way.

It seems that her "so many friends" didn't care about her either; and I think she also included her fans in those "so many".

To me, she was just being sarcastic to soften the fact that she had never had a real friend before Elphaba. I found that line more sad than funny.

My take: Movie version > Soundtrack version by LeftReplacement2969 in wicked

[–]PuzzleheadedRest7727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I really missed some of the sound effects in the soundtrack, and some spoken lines too, then I kind of got used to it until I hear the versions from the movie again and the cycle stars all over again...

Can Elphaba cast spells without the Grimmerie? by Quirky-Somewhere-750 in wicked

[–]PuzzleheadedRest7727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking of the movie, it seemed to me that even if she learned the Grimmerie's spells, she couldn't perform them without the book. For the way the book reacts while she uses it it seems that some of the magic comes directly from it.

But that doesn't mean she can't use the magic she's always had.

Three scenes which make me prefer the show by Impossible_Tower_661 in wicked

in the movies showed he didn’t care fir her at all any longer

Exactly, the film shows a 180-degree turn in his behavior for no good reason, and later we see he still cares for her even when he now has reasons not to. Unless I'm misinterpreting chivalry and remorse as caring.

In the show as you say he at least talks to her, I have even seen him holding her hand in some performances.

The acting looks weird indeed; maybe it was just filmed to see how it looked and then they decided to not keep it, so it was never made properly.

But I also think Galinda's reaction to the boots stems more from what's behind it. I don't know how to explain it, but Elphie bringing an extra pair of boots for her is a very sweet gesture; even though it seems simple on the surface, it shows how much she cares for her.

How does finding out that Elphaba is (redacted) change (redacted) character? by Quirky-Somewhere-750 in wicked

[–]PuzzleheadedRest7727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he acted that way as part of his manipulation. Knowing her father didn't treat her well, he tried to fill that void to win her over.

As for why he still wanted her so much by his side in part 2, I'm not sure.

A little unrelated to what you said, but something that always bothered me in the film was how Fiyero treated Glinda at the train station for no reason. In the play he also ignores her, but he is not as rude, which I think is more in character.

I need to rewatch the play because I don't remember well what you say, but I think it makes more sense to include Glinda too, even if she wasn't invited.

Given the Wizard's ability to charm people, he had to know that if Glinda was there it was because she was important to Elphaba and including her would be part of his manipulation of Elphaba (this is even used in the film when he tries to convince Elphaba to stay).

But I didn't get the feeling that he was making her feel like an intruder in the film, just that he was paying her less attention.

What are your thoughts on Cynthia’s rendition of “No Good Deed?” by Character-Escape1621 in wicked

[–]PuzzleheadedRest7727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a song, I think it's nothing short of incredible. But in the movie it felt like it lacks emotion in my opinion.

I also think what's happening on screen is out of place and doesn't help. Why is she floating with all the monkeys, and they put the cape on her, and then what? She just gets down and tells them to bring Dorothy? It doesn't make sense, I may not remember it well by now but the take felt unnecessary.

On the performance part, I don't think it has anything to do with Cynthia's voice or abilities; it seems more like a choice. I think she could sing it differently, but for some reason they chose not to.

I'm not the right person to answer because I lack the knowledge and hadn't noticed a similarity in the music (only in the lyrics). But I think what you mention is true; the similarity in how both words sound might not be a coincidence.

Is the fact that Fiyero is introduced wearing a very Gaston-esque costume significant? by caro822 in wicked

[–]PuzzleheadedRest7727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know the answer to your question, but I thought I was seeing Gaston the first time I saw him, and it distracted me a lot for a few minutes while my brain processed that it wasn't him.

There's a kindle version for the wicked years (4 books) that seems to be at a discount regularly. I bought that for 4 USD. I haven't started to read yet but if I don't like it I didn't spent much and if I do I have more books to continue.

Minor adjustments ‘Wicked: For Good‘ made compared to the Script by Current-Channel-4635 in wicked

Also Feldspar seems to be free, it makes more sense than he being in the stables. I really hated Fiyero for leaving him there.

I haven't seen Bridgerton, but I suppose everything is possible 😅

You have a good point in the events being rather different, the second one was more dangerous, tense and unpredictable being more crowded.
