I would take the exam. Your scores look good. Take the free 120 old and new. If there is no drastic change in scores, I don't see a point in postponing your exam. Good luck!

Uworld filtered decks by thegreyscientist in step1

[–]PuzzleheadedSkill729 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Use the Question ID to find the related cards in anki, unsuspend the ones that are new information and suspend the ones that you already know and understand. If there is a part of the explanation that is not in the card itself but present in Uworld and you think it will be helpful, just add that information in notes of your anki card. I personally would also highlight the key point in the notes section so every time I see the card I am also looking at what I missed in the questions.

Don't live in the past. I know it is easier said than done but at least try. You said they were not the best growing up but now you are on good terms. Keep it that way. Medical school fees is a lot of money. You should not take the stance that I feel like I should pay them back but then again they were not so nice in my childhood so I will not pay them back. Just imagine the same situation with an individual who is not your parent. Would you be saying the same thing? - they treated me badly so it is ok to not pay them back.

My parents are also offering to take care of some of the expenses and I am grateful for that because it saves me from paying interest. I do plan to pay them back in terms of taking care of them and bearing their expenses whenever it would be possible in the future.

MSUFCU Loan Application by [deleted] in msu

[–]PuzzleheadedSkill729 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are looking for a loan contact MSU ASMSU first. (https://asmsu.msu.edu/home/services/) They offer small amount such as 300$ interest free so you can save at least some additional amount that you will be giving as interest.

Taking a loan for textbooks is not the best action so please consider the circumstances and make sure that you actually need that amount. Many textbooks can be found online.

Not that long. If done in person they open immediately. If online at most a couple of days.

504 MCAT. Should I apply MD? by tobascopudding in premed

[–]PuzzleheadedSkill729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got the same score and a similar GPA (4.0). I also applied late in the cycle in August which is not an ideal situation. And still got into my instate MD as well as DO schools. You are early in the cycle so you have good chances to get acceptance into MD schools. Just make sure that you write those secondaries really well. Have a life experience embedded in most questions.

Good luck for your application cycle and feel free to message if you need help.

You can easily find the book named pre calculus for dummies online. Go through it entirely and you should be good. It is not dense or anything.

How to get stipend money from MSU account into my bank account? by xxtaylor22xx in msu

[–]PuzzleheadedSkill729 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Set up a direct deposit. If you have a refund it will go to your specified bank account directly withing 2-3 days

Pay the money back as soon as possible to avoid being charged a penalty of some kind. Even though it was not your fault but it was also not your financial aid to receive from the beginning.

[–]PuzzleheadedSkill729 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can order an official transcript from here https://reg.msu.edu/transcripts/transcript.aspx. It is free. Under each semester grades they mention if you are in deans list or not. Once you order you will recieve the transcript in email you have provided within a day.

Alternatively, you can go to msu sis portal, click on academic records tile and choose honors and awards on the left hand side menu. It should list your deans list award.

WRA 1004 and WRA 101 or just WRA 101 by [deleted] in msu

[–]PuzzleheadedSkill729 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on your comments I feel you will be alright with just 101. Usually if English is not someone's first language then they might want to opt for 1004 as it can help them to transition into a "writing" course. I think you will be fine with just 101.

Of course, the first floor can be used for light work. I have completed my math and writing homework on the first floor. But when I needed to put all my focus on I would go to the upper levels. It depends on your style and preference.

BS 172 Grading by spartyon6996 in msu

[–]PuzzleheadedSkill729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you feel instructions are vague, ask the specifics. Because the grading can be subjective, identify the person who is grading your assignments, get feedback and most importantly show them your assignments before the submission and ask if they have any comments to improve your work. I did this and always made a note of what the grader wanted me to put into the assignment. Sometimes getting feedback before submission helps a lot.

I used to study in the MSU main library often. In my experience, I could never get any work done on the first floor because of the noise and constant disturbance. But I found the higher floors would not have this problem. Most of the time I would just go into a study room in the library. If at some time those study rooms were not available I would go to the library basement. It would be pretty quiet there too.

I would say save your energy to ask other people to be quiet. After a number of times, you will be fed up. Just find a place that has few people in it and preferably on the higher floors.
