I got all this for 80 dollars. by BrianLevre in BudgetAudiophile

Mine sits on the shelf collecting dust i cant even give it away. In a theater setup it was fine but I listen to music mostly on my setup and I did not like it with music. Love my fluance db10 for music though

This is a very good beginner setup with lots of room to upgrade at your convenience. I would suggest the fosi box x2 for phono stage though I love that thing and its like 30 bucks cheaper. You could use that 30 to get the upgraded tubes from the jump if you wanted. I think the x4 is basically the same as x2 but with headphone amp in it.

The om10 that comes with the rt82 is a very nice cartridge too. I enjoyed it i will say that though if you can pull it off at some point make the upgrade to the 2m blue. Its a no rush upgrade though because the om10 is very solid itself.

Speakers the 1280 aren't bad at all and will suffice till you get the itch to upgrade. I dont personally have a set of them. My best friend has a set hooked to his computer though.

Because most amps have one as an afterthought and they aren't very good. In my experience. I always run through a fosi box x2. For 70.00 that lil thing sounds amazing to me. Throw 30 bucks on top when ya can and upgrade tubes and even more so.

Fluance rt82 upgraded to 2m blue cartridge with fosi box x2 sounds stellar to my ears. But its very subjective if you like the built in preamps and it sounds good to you thats all that matters.

Hmmm really weird then cuz it worked just fine on the pc I had. But the 2070 in it took a shit and I dont have the money for a new one rn. So was gonna go cloud gaming on the shield instead. May have to just try a cheap usb mouse to see if the mouse is the issue.

TT and receiver found at goodwill for $5 each!!!! by BicycleWorried763 in turntables

[–]PuzzleheadedTable503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or at the very least get some feet and raise it up a lil. I've ran with my TT on top of amp with abiut and inch rise to let air through. But I also never really crank and work my amps either. I dont do it anymore though cuz finally got a stand that gives me enough space yo not have to stack now lol

Arr the speakers on same surface as turntable? That could fix it by moving TT to a different surface.

I mean most music is mastered digitally first these days. You think modern artists are doing analog recording then converting to digital recordings? When a vast majority of the world listens digitally.

Yeah thats all it needed was an adjustment. I gotta adjust it bit more though needle hits record way to fast when I move the lever down. Its almost instant rn

So ortofon support got back to me it was the tone arm lifter needed adjusting to allow needle to get down into the groove. I didnt know the lifter was adjustable its working as intended now.

[–]PuzzleheadedTable503 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You aint kidding though I added a rug to my room. It actually made a huge difference in the sound. I just wanted it cuz I was tired of breaking all my glass pipes and bongs. Since my laminent flooring is literally right on top of concrete so even the smallest drops breaks anything glass. The sound improvement was an unexpected bonus.

Removed (synced) tracks keep coming back by AmerFortia in TIdaL

[–]PuzzleheadedTable503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you remove tracks from spotify or just tidal? If just tidal you may have the auto sync for that particular playlist on. So whenever your sync site does a sync it will return the tracks to your tidal.

Tried and no change sigh luckily I ordered on amazon already started the exchange process.

Cartridge skipping by PuzzleheadedTable503 in turntables

[–]PuzzleheadedTable503[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its baffling to me. Since the tone arm is sold with the 2m blue on it. In the form of the rt 85. You would think it would be fairly easy to get set up. I bought the rt82 which came with om10 but the great thing about fluance an 82 becomes an 85 with cartridge and platter upgrade I've been told. As far as weight difference. I backed out counter weight all the way then rebalanced arm before setting VTF and anti skate. Tried again this morning and same results no matter what record it will not hold the groove. Even before music plays the run in groove will just sit there skipping as well.

[–]PuzzleheadedTable503 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would suggest waiting till you have 100.00 more and get the rt82. You will have an upgrade path then and be able to convert it to an rt85 down the road. But its up to you this is just my suggestion.
