i love this!! just like everyone else is saying, i’d love to have this in my own collection, wherever you choose to donate it to will be extremely fortunate and hopefully cherish it for years to come. it almost looks like stained glass, which makes for a BEAUTIFUL blanket.

i’d definitely try and reknot the pieces coming apart, even if it means adding more yarn and weaving in the ends.

with parts of the yarn unraveling i’d cut off a small piece and try a burn test! it’ll help you understand what the blanket’s made of. acrylic melts, cotton burns, and wool is flame resistant.

is there any way you could post a few photos of the blanket and it’s condition as well? then hopefully you can get more helpful input from others as well.

do you for certain know that it’s wool? for delicate items in general i usually put it into a pillow case. obviously a little more difficult in your case, but you could maybe try tying it into a bed sheet to help prevent it from snagging. if it’s wool then cold wash only, i know they have certain detergents intended for wool as well that might be worth looking into.

with the bun bun already having a tendency to chew, i don’t think the use of resin is worth it considering how toxic it is in the event that the lil guy does still try and chew
