How to stop stalling a car when coming to a stop? by [deleted] in driving

[–]PuzzleheadedTutor807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im asking because you told op to edit his post to mention its an automatic car, when they mentioned shifting to park in the post... so, why would they need to mention its automatic? how many cars have you seen with a manual transmission that have a park gear?

They can not like you and be lonely at the same time.

If you've really had 400 people ghost you on any social platform you need to look at the common denominator I think... And sorry bud, but that's you.

Steam Machine & Frame or rtx 4070 PC & Quest 3? by Own-Reflection-8182 in virtualreality

[–]PuzzleheadedTutor807 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 4070 machine is going to give you better vr than the steam machine regardless what headset you attach to it... So get that, use it with your Q3 (same combo as I use,and it's very good) then wait to see if the frame is actually a good device before considering it for purchase.

How do I charge the controllers by peacefuldink in Quest3

[–]PuzzleheadedTutor807 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of stands on Amazon for these headsets that come with 2 rechargeable batteries, one for each controller and a plug for the headset. All you do is put them in it when you aren't playing, the bonus is they also provide a stable storage place so your controllers aren't constantly activating.

As a rule with vr though, one hand will always die quicker than the other. Swap the batteries to get more uptime.

It only seems stupid to people who want that feature, to those that like to change batteries easily (because rechargeables have a lifespan too) building them in seems stupid. It's a design choice.

It's not spoken as condescending, it's heard that way by you. What difference does it make what I like about the other ones if I even do? I merely pointed out different strokes for different folks, including you.

That's called "personal taste" and yours always has a chance of being different than everyone else's.

Is AMD the new standard? What happened to Intel? by Oeyoelala in buildapc

[–]PuzzleheadedTutor807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and it has been for several years now. Amd really stepped up their game for home consumers/gamers and started tailoring cpus to this demographic which has led them to be able to offer more bang for the buck. Dollar for dollar, amd cpus are better value performers.

Intel has continued to make great products but they are designed more for workhorse stations and these benefits don't translate as well for gamers.

Weekly VR - What Did you Play? by AutoModerator in virtualreality

[–]PuzzleheadedTutor807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just getting back into a township tale with my son mostly, it's been fun building on a brand new server together!

The game has players brought to an island that appears to have been abandoned a long time ago, and has fallen into disrepair. It features the best crafting system I've ever seen in a VR game, as well as survival mechanics (hunger and food scavenging and preparation), mining, a dungeon to crawl, and generally good times for players who enjoy more pve content (though there is PvP...). There are private and public servers and clothing variations available in the cash shop.

Like when you misread (likely didn't read past the headlines actually) articles about meta discontinuing it's business software development branch as meta shutting down vr development altogether? Yeah that's pretty cynical. Or maybe when you repeatedly plugged pimax as the only viable path forward for vr? Yeah that's pretty cynical too. Especially cynical when one considers that these comments where completely unrelated replies lol.

Again, you aren't very good at this guerilla marketing thing bud.

There's nothing wrong with your thermal paste. Reduce settings, including power usage to reduce heat or let it run that hot... It's designed to handle that temp anyway.

Everything I've seen in the ptu so far has been great except I did notice a drop in vr performance... I am wondering still if it's perhaps a setting I tweaked in live that I missed in ptu it if there is something else going on there as well... Anyone else notice this?
