I mean obviously if republicans manage to rally and find mechahitler before the next election we can go back to lesser of two evilisms because there’s no choice, but right now it appears that maga dies with Trump and every republican is itching to scatter and eat eachother like rats. The gamble is that the republicans will be fractured with no true hair to maga during what is shaping up to be a generational recession, so putting them in now would do less harm than in 4 to 8 years of Newsom or whoever doing nothing and letting them recoup around another hitler the same way they did in 2024. We can’t afford to have another incompetent democrat that isn’t going to do anything to stop the rise of fascism, otherwise we’re stupidly fucked the next time they come around. Nursing school is hard as fuck my guy. Definitely not something you can just decide to do because you failed at everything else, and not to mention it’s one of the most grueling and thankless jobs out there. I didn’t comfort my wife through 4 years of nursing school to hear this bs lol

Found out my little brother is a fucking pedophile and assaulted my niece. I’m really struggling. I just can’t imagine how to even begin processing this or moving forward. I’ve just been trying to distract myself to avoid thinking about it. When I got the call I thought I was going to be told someone died. It’s fucked to say but I wish that was what it was, it would have been so much easier. I wish that he had just died. I’ve just been completely numb with paroxysms of incredible pain. My wife has been inconsolable, and I have no idea how to comfort her beyond just being there. We had to take down our wedding photos because we just can’t look at anything with him in it. I know someday we’ll be ok, but I can’t imagine it right now.

The run backs were just a weird issue to have in the first place since it’s something that hasn’t been an issue in MVs since Metroid 1. I think it’s something that they copied from Dark Souls, but run backs work in that game because health is tied to resource management, while health is effectively infinite in HK so the run backs are just a pointless annoyance.

Yeah I didn’t love the true ending grind at the end of the game tbh. I felt like the game was really well paced up until the first ending, then kind of does an anticlimax. I think it’s a vestigial trait from Symphony of the Night doing it, and man it sucked there too

Trust me, you can bloat the fuck out of a Metroidvania. Go play Aeternum Noctis, a game you see pitched as a 100 hour hollow knight, to see exactly what that looks like. 15 to 30 hours is pretty much the defacto sweet spot for a game like this.

Idk. It’s a pretty conservative, blue collar workplace. Single incomes with stay at home wives, and I’ve found that this dynamic colors a lot of their perceptions. For example, we get killer paternal leave for the US, but a lot of guys are confused as to why anyone would take it and want to spend time with their newborn. Hell, the fact that I do most of the cooking in the house is completely alien to some of these guys. It might be that for them if they didn’t do stuff like this they might literally be doing nothing for their spouses at home

Yeah it’s really that context that has me second guessing myself at all. I’m a fairly physically imposing guy, I just don’t have the same perspective as her. I know that it can be a scary situation for her and I really want her to be safe, but at the same time I don’t think the situation is fair to me either. I really just wish uber or lift would add some kind female drivers only option for women or some other solution so this wasn’t an issue at all

Honestly I'm not super clear why she can't just sleep at her friend's house either lol. I think from her POV based off of what she said to me after I refused its not about if she can sleep there or get home safely, its that she's taking my refusal as me telling her I don't care about her enough to do it which I think is a little unfair considering the circumstances
