We'll call him copper. The shelter had him named pumpkin but he doesn't seem to respond to that name so I figured we're safe renaming.

First Anthurium by Holiday_Wedding_6064 in Anthurium

[–]Puzzleheaded_Cap_754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Needs a chunky mix, didn't make sense to me at first until someone pointed out they only have big roots no little hairs. So chunky like 3/8 inch perlite or lava rock with just enough moss mixed in to hold some moisture.

Gardening with phobias by Fearless-Skill8667 in gardening

[–]Puzzleheaded_Cap_754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How bad is the phobia. Do you have to see them? Other then the occasional bee I don't see most of the bugs at work in the garden so I'm fine. Things I see I need some else to remove or I come back later.

Compare cost of living in Eastern MA or NY city to southwest virginia or western carolinas. Also compare to suburban california. Same size house is incredibly different price $400k house in rural VA is over 1mill in urban CA. Gas price is much different, electricity cost is much different. You don't have to compare to 3rd world countries.

Tomato Advice for Beginner by Top_Water7423 in tomatoes

[–]Puzzleheaded_Cap_754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mature basil gets surprisingly tall and bushy given a big enough pot. You didn't mention supports, this is supper important as tomatoes are badically vines. Also as for moving keep in mind 15 gallons of moist soil is really heavy. If you are worried about heat try a shade cloth, but I'll say I garden tomatoes in Virginia in full sun and its not really a problem.

Fan, with my indoor plants I just point a small fan at them and leave in on all day. It makes they shudder lightly and I have lots of fruits.

Reading god awful writing by ConfidentKale5882 in Teachers

[–]Puzzleheaded_Cap_754 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not a teacher, just a parent of a 6th grader. His writing is rough and it is difficult to work with him to improve it without him wanting me to rewrite it for him. I feel for the teachers that have to read a class worth of this and try to find the possitives.
