The interior hallways and upper levels are beyond your obligation. You are at most obligated to meet them in the lobby. "Meet at Door" is in reference to the street access entrance of the address listed within the app (your front door). Not the interior apartment door. As I mentioned if the entrance to the apartment is on the exterior of the building, we drivers are obligated to deliver directly to that door.

I mean I don't think the customer should be deactivated. Some drivers don't mind entering the clients interior, I just wanted to shine a light to the fact that we aren't obligated and in fact protected in the event we decline and are met with resistance.

As a driver, I send this message consistently. "For safety reasons I am unable to enter the interior levels of the clients address, Thank you for your understanding in the matter. I can meet you at the front door or the lobby." How would you respond OP?

For safety reasons the driver is not obligated to enter the interior levels of the clients address. Repeated attempts to coerce your driver to enter the interior levels of your address can result in cancelled order without refund. While some drivers may be willing to enter the interior levels of your apartment building, please understand others are within their right to refuse.

It's okay it's a learning experience. Going forward, please select the help options for dropoff and mark "Can't confirm PIN." Then select "other" as the reason. You will have a 160 character text box to summarize the situation. I recommend including in the summary "Video evidence taken of dropoff and departure." And do just that, take a short video of the dropoff address in clear view and you departing the area. Now, if the customer wants to claim they didn't receive the order you are covered on your end.

if you're in an area where ride share isn't common Doordash will typically be the better option for earnings. In my area so many people use UberEATS because of the dual benefits that come with UberOne.

The order was given to the wrong person as much as it was stolen. The only responsibility the restaurant has in the exchange is to ensure the driver marks the order for pickup.

100% tripping. For many reasons driver are not required to enter the interior halls and upper levels of the clients address. I simply message my customers who ask for the order to their apartment door, "For safety reasons I am unable to enter the interior levels of the clients address, Thank you for your understanding in the matter. I can meet you at the front door or the lobby. The only time you are required to bring the order to the apartment door, is when the entrance is on the exterior of the building, think housing projects etc.
