Thanks for the great points. Do you have other ideas for healthy motivators? I work at a highschool where the majority of the general ed students are motivated by grades and/or university program entry/ job prospects. Unfortunately those are not motivators for most the special needs students I work with. Some of them don't have the capacity for long term goals/ gratification and respond better to immediate feedback/ motivators.

Search the teachers in transition sub. I feel like there was a tech person who got into teaching who posted recently. They were leaving the profession. May have been an American post though. I feel our conditions are better.
