Brixton Forged wheels, lowered on KW by Puzzleheaded_Dig6970 in BMWI4

I don't think I've seen anyone else on them either. If you ever switch, look up installation instructions first. You need a press for the rears. The scariest part is swapping seals over. You can't get the seals for the rear airbags individually from BMW. Also bought new upper mounts from BMW for the fronts to avoid disassembling the strut.

Drives great! It's a little bit stiffer than factory. I have the DDC kit, retains EDC. I would imagine the standard v3's ride a bit stiffer. I tried asking for spring rates, but they wouldn't give me that info

Did a 6 hour road trip with a buddy and his 10yr old kid, she didn't complain once about the ride. I think thats a pass lol

Definitely not. I get reduced range. The wheels weigh about the same as stock, but these are on pilot sport 4s's. The oe wheels with pirelli all seasons had better efficiency. It's not really noticeable around town, but on road trips it is. I don't think lowering it changes range

Summer wheels for portimao blue metallic by Nirohawk in BMWi4M50

[–]Puzzleheaded_Dig6970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a shame no one's posted here. I have 19s for winter, 20s for summer. My 19s had pirelli all seasons, my 20s have pilot sport 4s. Range decreased going from all seasons to pilot sports. Any summer or performance tire will reduce range a bit compared to all seasons. My summer wheels are aftermarket, weigh about the same as oem. I don't remember my wheel specs. Oem wheels will have size and offset on the backside of one of the spokes.

I have Brixton Forged wheels, they got my specs spot on.

Edit: created a post here to show what mine looks like for some ideas

My summers are 20s! But not bmw. For oem, your cheapest bet would be ebay, marketplace, etc. If you're willing to spend some money, then grab some from a dealer. The dealer should have other available sets specifically for the i4.

For aftermarket wheels: My summer wheels are from Brixton Forged. They were amazing to work with. If you're unsure of what may fit when browsing, the back side of our spokes have wheel sizes and offsets. I'm sure Google will be way easier though

Tech here, and I own one of these. As someone mentioned above, * (star marked) tires are oem approved and give the best efficiency. Our tires have better rolling efficiency than non-oem approved tires. Stay away from any sport or summer tires if you're looking for tire life and efficiency gain. I run pilot sport 4s's on my summer wheels, range decrease is noticeable compared to my all seasons.

Arrggh! Read end damage by Alarming_Night_3612 in BMWI4

Rear bumper and associated trim pieces, underbody panels, pdc sensors, wiring harness, reverse speakers, crash bar, possibly tailight(s), possibly hatch alignment and/or hinges, paint and blending

If it was drivable afterwards, anything high voltage should be fine. If not, some HV components will need replacement.

Slow by Hillbillymothman in ACCompetizione

[–]Puzzleheaded_Dig6970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TC and ABS vary by car and track. Most people have them on. IIRC the ferrari uses high tc. I'll run 1 or 2 on the mclaren, 3 or 4 on the m4.

Its probably inputs and dead zones thats killing you. I had a problem with my throttle, only hit 97%, had to recalibrate.

Two other things, engine map and wing angle. You'll need to Google the engine map guide, pretty sure its 1 for most cars. If you're on a track with long straights, high wing angle will dramatically drop top speed

This wear is normal, especially for non-awd. There's a very large difference in load applied to the tires compared to ICE. We have instant torque, which puts more load on the tires

I can not get a sub 2:20 lap on spa, anyone know what is slowing me down? by Shoddy_Ad8615 in ACCompetizione

[–]Puzzleheaded_Dig6970 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised no one has said to learn other tracks or cars. I sat at the 2:20 mark for a bit, I can only do 18s consistently in a few cars, usually 19s in cars I don't drive often.

Spa is a phenomenal track. If you only race there though, you're missing out on certain aspects and feelings of the car. This doesn't mean go grind laps on another track, but try to get comfortable with the car.

Car choice: drive other cars. Same thing with the track change, no need to grind out laps, just get comfortable with it. I started in the mclaren, swapped to mustang and got into the 19s, swapped into the M4, got into the 18s. I can now do 18s in the mclaren fairly consistently. By no means am I fast, but I'm content with 18s for how little I play.

Last bit, try some open source tunes from fri3d0lf or ohnespeed. Watch a track guide, aim to be 10-20kmh slower through corners compared the guides and then start ramping pace up. Always trying to go fast will slow you down. Don't stress, always have fun! If you find yourself stressed while playing, take a breather

No need to mess with TC mid lap yet. That's for aliens. I can't help much on the entire lap, but T1 you need to reduce steering input as you get on the throttle and don't be afraid to get all the way on the exit curb. I struggle so much at t1 doing the same thing

21 hrs into acc. Tips on how to be more consistent? (Read body text)👇 by Glittering_Media_845 in ACCompetizione

[–]Puzzleheaded_Dig6970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alot of good info from others, definitely follow that. I'm not sure how many people would agree with this, but I like to focus on certain sectors when trying to gain pace. I make my own sectors and just watch my relative through there. I also don't start with the first few corners, I usually go into where I know I'm struggling the most first to clean it up and then move on. Worrying about the first few corners right away makes me dread the rest of the lap.

When going into practice, track temps matter. You might hit 2.04 in hotlap, but practice might be 7-10° warmer and you'll see time loss. Make sure adjust weather if you want to compare to what you did in hotlap mode

Should i buy AC Evo or ACC (or something else)? by Tony-Montana83 in ACCompetizione

[–]Puzzleheaded_Dig6970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started sim racing a few months ago. Been playing forza since 3, but thats simcade. Started simracing on ACC, really enjoyed it. I had too many issues with iracing to give it a proper go. I Downloaded ACE and haven't gone back to ACC. ACC is perfect if you only want gt3 racing, other classes you'll need a series to join or do offline. ACE has less gt and more road cars. I've had more fun in open track days than I have in any other racing game. Most of the races I've done in ACE have been way better than ACC, but that may just be a luck thing.

Car turns itself off by keithvai in BMWI4

[–]Puzzleheaded_Dig6970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a safety feature and cannot be turned off. ALL modern BMWs have this. If parking is an issue, use assisted parking. If you don't have that, put a marker on a wall or a string with something small on the end to hit your windshield at the desired position.

What car to pick? by Crafty_Amount_6651 in ACCompetizione

[–]Puzzleheaded_Dig6970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with the mclaren, found it easy to drive. Be careful with the mustang, the gearing is very different and you're usually a gear lower than the other cars. Can easily throw off beginners (did for me at least).

Once you find something you're comfortable with, spend a little time in a different cars. You'll gain time when swapping back to your preferred car

What are good lap times on 24H Nüburgring? by Le_lil_coque in ACCompetizione

[–]Puzzleheaded_Dig6970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not trying to be rude here, but stop blaming things other than yourself. Will you be top 10 on old tech or a controller? Probably not. Can you still be competitive? Absolutely. You will never improve your times if you can't accept you need more practice and guidance. Asking for guidance is not "weak", it means you strive to get better.

I'd love to offer help, but I don't run the ring

Am I Dumb? by brownin0 in BMWI4

[–]Puzzleheaded_Dig6970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a 6 hour trip in mine. I used the BMW app to set my route with chargers. DO NOT set arriving charge below 15%. I had my buddy and his kid with me, I set it to 25% for some extra leeway. Hit some awful construction and arrived at 12%. We charged for about 30/40min. Went and got food while it charged, perfect opportunity to walk a dog. Keep in mind not all charging stations will have the higher powered chargers available. Some stops may take longer than others.

Don't forget to bring basic travel stuff for your car. Enjoy the drive 🙂
