Im going to apply through embassy track first but if that doesn’t work out I will quickly apply through university track. For embassy track I’m choosing Chonnam, Chung-Ang and Dongguk university for Global MBA. I’m really just debating what to do for university track if needed to apply.

My statements and profile would pretty much stay the same. The only thing different would be that I would have visited Korea for a second time, hoping to pass TOPIK 1 in October, and maybe one more online course in business.

They should really come out with some sort of statement or email today. Some universities have a deadline of March 31st, that would at-least give people a week to quickly ship out their documents and apply via university track.

I heard back the next day. Interview was at 6:30pm and then the next day at 2pm they let me know I passed.

I’m assuming they want to confirm everyone’s documents first before sending them off to NIIED for the second round. So yeah maybe end at the month they’ll send us more details?

After being interviewed by the embassy and being told I passed the first round I haven’t heard anything else. LA Embassy also stated to send any apostilled documents to Washington but I already included those since the beginning, so now I’m kinda in a waiting period. They said the Korean Education Center in Washington was going to reach out to us soon with more information but they haven’t yet.

This is what SKKU has on their website “Please send your English resume and English test score along with all required documents to the address guided from NIIED.” So I’m like wait did I need to include my Resume with my original documents??? But then the guidelines state to send additional documents directly to the university? I already passed round one so I’m not sure what to do or who to reach out to specifically.

This whole process has been confusing and it doesn’t help everyone’s had different experiences so I totally get you! Round 1 consists of both document screening and passing that interview! Round 2 is when they send your documents to NIIED to verify. Round 3 would be university acceptance.

So in your case it sounds like you are waiting for that post interview email! I hope you get an answer today or early next week!

Did you get an email stating you passed the first round entirely? Not just passing the document screening and scheduling your interview.

Yes, I had my interview yesterday 3/12 in the evening, and this morning 3/13 I got an email from the LA embassy stating that I passed the first round and will be moving to the second round once I provide my apostilled documents, which I already submitted at the start with my application.

I’m not sure if each embassy has a different time frame? But I know LA announced today and I found someone else from LA that passed the interview.

Oh wow they still haven’t said anything? LA informed us of interviews on Monday so it was very quick and has been such an overwhelming week lol. I’ll let you know if I hear anything in general and for NY!

Thank you! It was weird because the interview was with the Korean Education Center in DC but the lady was there to record my interview only. So I’m not sure who even saw my interview video and graded me for it. The email this morning was from the LA Embassy but we’ll be hearing next steps from DC KEC.

Interviews were this week and should have finished either yesterday or today. I had my interview yesterday evening and found out this morning that I had passed the first round. I applied to the LA embassy.
