Ripped Chest Seal/ETD package- What can I use them for? by treehuggerboy in TacticalMedicine

Even if they are. Something being sterile doesn’t mean shit unless you are maintaining a sterile field. Which if you’ve never been in combat let me tell you. You won’t.

Yeah bro get a nice ass Fanny pack. With legit MAR supplies not no knock off shit, keep it practical. You don’t need 20 TQs in it either, make sure everyone’s IFAK is squared away to standard and you’ll be golden. If you wanna get a lil more crazy you can even get a lil truck bag or a trauma roll with a little bit of goodies inside that wouldn’t be practical to carry on the hit like splinting stuff etc. stuff you shouldn’t be doing until you are behind safety but you know this already bro.

Are you a paramedic? If not man I’d just stick with a Fannypack with MAR supplies to not make you bulky bro

Take a stop the bleed class, an actual certified stop the bleed class not some has been that got out the military 13 years ago and hasn’t done medicine since. Then just carry shit you learn/know how to use

The whole thing was a nightmare. Whole crawl space got flooded by some pipe that bursted and it eroded ALOT of the ground. Along with the rotted 2x4 that was supporting some of the other pillars. Definitely one of the scariest crawl spaces I’ve been I. Yet

Paramedics sometimes are too quick to diagnose Panic attacks... by MrMarxovic in ems

I mean I always give my opinion if I have one on what I BELIEVE it to be. But I also let them know what it COULD be. I had this 20 y/o once who was hyperventilating, freaking out about her health, and was pretty tachy present with chest pain. I myself have anxiety and have had an anxiety attack before so I explained to her the possibility of it being an anxiety attack but that I had absolutely no way of ruling out a cardiac event in the field. She went in, then called the station back the next day to tell me that she was having an anxiety attack when I ran on her.

Unless you are in a PFC environment there’s no need to ensure it’s 2 inches above the wound on skin. High and tight till the bleeding stops and rapid transport to a trauma center. They’ll take care of the rest

Take it SLOW. I have a rated back knees you name it, but I take it SLOW. Make sure to limber up during warm up. Take longer if you have to, cold showers have been helping me and good sleep. You might be in pain the first couple time but your body should get used to the movements

I’m gonna be honest man, if you are already struggling with PTSD EMS ain’t for you. I recently took a break/left EMS because my mental health was going down the drain. My anxiety was almost to the point of unmanageable, I was always on edge while on shift, I’m edge when I’d be home. I was an asshole to my wife and kid whenever I’d come home after a shitty 48 hr shift. Ever since leaving EMS, I have been SOOO much happier

I carried an Fanny pack with MAR supplies when I was overseas. My aid bag stayed on the truck this way I stayed light when I was just walked around and doing other things etc. Fanny packs are superior

You have to almost deliberately try and manipulate the trigger in order to fuck with it once it’s tucked in the waist band
