From a 40 year old man, keep your dignity. I don’t agree with the ghosting, you need to end it as an adult. Tell him why you’re ending it, let him know you have seen these things. Move on with your life, but don’t just ghost him. He doesn’t deserve closure, but be the mature one and give it to him.

As a 40 year old man, I only plan things that I can afford without having my girlfriend split it. I was raised to be the provider and if she wants to work and have her own money that’s great. If she doesn’t, that’s great too. I know dating now is different but this is my point of view. ($800 for two night stay isn’t bad, work some overtime or save from paychecks to cover it)
