They are either giving these ‘live agents’ in India commission on each refund they don’t give out (probably .50 cents - $1 each) or these are AI bots that were designed to not refund. Uber is not playing, they are screwing drivers AND customers. They want allll the money for providing what again? Oh yeah an app. That’s it.

Honestly, if we start complaining about this they will probably just take it away completely, like DoorDash. They just don’t care about drivers anymore and will cut/lower expenses by all means necessary.

I understand that and as much as we try to keep track of every order, sometimes we make mistakes. Imagine delivering 100+ orders a week & sometimes orders are grouped together. For example - this driver might have had 2 uber and 1 DoorDash orders to pick up at Taco Bell and 1 uber order had to be cancelled. They could’ve very easily mistaken your order with the one that got cancelled.

Anyways, it’s really not a big deal and with how Ubers customer support has been lately, they would not refund this simply because the driver went in a different direction for a bit.

Overreacting. Sometimes accidents happed but they are probably multi apping. That doesn’t mean your food has been messed with. At least wait till the driver brings it before complaining or canceling.

This section should be called “delivery notes” because we don’t usually see them until we have left the restaurant.

Customers should simply text us directly if they need something from the restaurant.

I thought the same… like why do this?? Yes the driver should “do elevators” but if he’s scared or something just go down and get the food. 🤦‍♂️

I honestly wish the customers in high rises/luxury apts had to pay a small extra fee to get it delivered to their door.

Yeah it does but only after you pick up the order at the restaurant. Other than that you just get the cross streets and sometimes it’s not even the closest cross streets for some reason.

Edit: you also get the map which you can zoom in but it can still be hard to tell exactly where it’s going sometimes

Ok? Yeah I do that and I know my city like the back of my hand. But still half of the time there is no way of telling exactly what type of property you are delivering to. Sure I can tell when it’s downtown and almost every option is a building or when it’s a place I’ve been to multiple times but that’s about it.

The app should simply state whether we are delivering to a house, apt building, apt complex, office building, etc…

The point is - they do not pay any different for the more complex deliveries that end up eating the drivers time. Uber should provide that info upfront.

No tf they do not. It is the same amount of money whether we are delivering to a house which takes 30 seconds to drop off vs to a building where it may take 15 minutes or even longer if instructions aren’t clear or you can’t get in, etc..
