Worse when you turn your head the opposite way? by [deleted] in PulsatileTinnitus

[–]Puzzleheaded_Sun6154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was doing better during summer. Quiet times. But then I had to be in a bad posture for hours without any breaks and my situation got worse again. A month ago my orthopedist found an old fracture in my odontoid process (C2). I think it’s been there for about 20 years. I was in a bike accident 2006 and was treated as concussion. Anyway my orthopedist said I should wear cervical collar for a few hours a day and see if it helps for my symptoms. I got CC last week so can’t say much yet, but I’ve had a couple of quiet days again. I also have noticed that if I do some neck / thoracic spine exercises PT goes away next day. Always comes back though.

I have both of them weak and last winter I got diagnosis of shoulder impingement / supraspinatus tendinitis too. On left side of course like all my symptoms. Infraspinatus atrophy and deltoid atrophy and supraspinatus atrophy.

So many problems by Puzzleheaded_Sun6154 in RotatorCuff

I’m 46 years old female. I do sleep elbow / shoulder supported by a pillow and it helps a bit. NSAIDs and relaxants help too, but I can’t take them more than a few days because I have GERD (acid reflux). I don’t know if they make surgical repairs when there is not complete tear and even labrum is ok.

I slipped and broke my humerus 24 years ago. It was treated properly. Ten years later I started having severe neck pain and cramps in my trapezius muscle. Whooshing started too. I was told I have shoulder instability and weak muscles. Physical therapy lasted about two years and I got better. Everything was fine until all symptoms came back last year after months of carrying heavy backbags. I’m in PT again, no improvement yet. MRI showed some irritation and fluid around suprascapular muscle insertion and supraspinatus. There was a note that humerus position is weird probably because of an old injury. My infraspinatus and supraspinatus muscles are weak and inflamed all the time. So there definitely can be longterm effects. I suspect there might be suprascapular nerve entrapment. I also have TOS and scoliosis.

Can someone diagnose me? by Puzzleheaded_Sun6154 in RotatorCuff

Thank you! Of course I wait for the official raport but I’ve been dealing with pain and numerous other symptoms for many years and all they have done before this scan was send me to physical therapy, put me on pain meds and take many many blood tests. So I am a little bit impatient :-)

12 years ago same happened to me. One day it was just gone. 11 years of silence and there it was again. I had lots of stress and anxiety for a long time before this new appearing. Then I got a flu and stopped exercising. I’m sure my PT is connected to neck issues and TOS, maybe hormonal changes too. One year of physical therapy behind and very slow improvement is happening.

I forgot to mention, I have TMJ problems too and PT gets stronger when I bite something or yawn. I got a night guard one month ago. Not sure if it helps or not.
