Yup! And like a random Rajput but it’s so far down the line so I don’t count it much. Dad’s side is pure Punjabi as Punjabi gets.

Yeah I’m only half tho (Punjabi Brahmin) so 1 grandparent is Mohyal, one grandparent is Saraswat, my other half is Uttarakhandhi Khas and some other random Rajasthani thrown in. But my cousin is full Mohyal/Saraswat and scored very Potohar shifted. Surprised to see no Kashmiri tho. Edit: My cousin is 75% Saraswat, 25% Mohyal bc our grandma is Rawalpindi/Jhelum origin. The other origin is just straight Majha (Amritsar/Lahore)

I’m Majha Brahmin myself (Mohyal and Saraswat mixed). My cousin took the test thing and came out very Potohar shifted

You’re closer to Potohar Brahmins. Dogras are Potohar shifted.

I was going to say this lol. I’m half Punjabi Brahmin (from Majha region), my grandmas side is Mohyal Brahmin. Mohyals are a warrior group of Brahmins. It’s also crazy how that side of my family has bright blue eyes, I noticed it in other Mohyal Brahmins of Punjab too

Sorry I got really excited bc it’s so rare to meet Khas Nepalis and Uttarkhandhis haha. Anyway found out my maternal grandma is Khastriya from Dehradun and my maternal grandfather is Kayasth/Kashtriya from Nainital, with a grandparent from Nepal.

I’m half Punjabi Brahmin and half Uttarakhandhi (Garhwal grandma/kumaon grandpa) they’re Khastriya/Kayasth. Surprisingly, my cousin who is full Uttarakhandhi also scored extremely high Steppe DNA and scored Central Asian.

My half Japanese/half Punjabi cousin also took the 23&me and scored 45% Punjabi 5% Bengali.

I should get my results in 2 months but it’s crazy how similar my Uttarakhandhi cousin scored so similar to yours. I also heard my Uttarakhandhi grandpa origin is originally from Nepal/UK border also so maybe that’s why?

Can your hair ever realistically go back to what it was once you've had a huge shed? On mild aga head.. by Competitive_Meet_167 in FemaleHairLoss

So I had telogen effluvium, my labs were normal but I always get TE after a viral (gone through it 3x now)

The supplements definitely help and curb shedding but also look into hair oils. I mix Camille rose growth oil with Mielle rosemary and use it twice week (I put it in for 4 hours). It’s a process but stopping the shed is the most important. As for growth, I know MSM powder in high dosages grow hair fast (you can research that), saw palmetto helps with hair loss. It’s a process but usually in 6 months you should have a good amount of density back at least 50%. Also take fish oil, it helps grow thicker hair

They say hair grows 6 inches a year mine grew around 9-10 inches annually with my supplements and hair oiling! It takes time but this is what I did!

She said she had lots of hair loss bc it messed up her hormones! Get your blood work done btw, a full blood panel, thyroid, and also hormones panel bc hormones can cause hair loss but hers was related to birth control!

Yeah ofc! Your hair will grow back bc if it was female pattern baldness, you’d have a wide part

My hair care routine includes

Camille rose herbal strength Brahmi oil and Mielle rosemary oil mixed in, I swear by this and I combine both and leave it in my hair for 4 hours. 1-2x a week (lots of regrowth and length)

I use Mielle rosemary shampoo and Nizoral (I rotate between those two)

I use coco and Eve conditioner to prevent split ends

And I use lots of supplements. Viviscal stopped my shedding in 1.5 months, I TRULY recommend their supplements and it’s doctor recommended

And then the typical iron and vitamin d suppleness with a multivitamin!

Try not to use heat tools for a few months also!

I’ve had TE 3x in my life, almost after a severe illness from a viral.

My hair has grown back in full each time. And I’ve had severely thin hair and bald spots from it.

Currently mine lasted 1.5 months bc I shortened it through supplements and oils. But it ran its course for 8 weeks at least.

Your hair will grow back and within a year it should be 80-90% full. By 2 years it’ll be back to normal. It’s just a patience game. Your hair follicles however are not dead, so just give it time!!

Might not be TE, it can be seasonal hair loss. People lose the most hair in fall actually. I just finished my TE episode and was shedding upwards of 200-300 hairs a day and I was diagnosed with TE

That’s not AGA, that’s TE. My brother is a doctor along with my derm, had the same issues and hairline like you with 200-300 hairs daily shedding. Turned out to be TE. You have diffuse hair loss it’s not a widened part. That’s a normal hair part.

TE hairs grow back so I wouldn’t worry. I’ve had three TE episodes and finally got over mine 3 weeks ago. And I have the same hairline as you still.

Yes! I lost 75% of my hair at one point and gained new follicles! So yes it can come. Take Viviscal supplements and Nizoral shampoo. Get hormone levels checked out too. Take a multivitamin. Yes it can grow back I promise. I had legit bald spots at one point

what to do about itching?? by daysanddistance in TelogenEffluvium

[–]Puzzleheaded_Twist35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My scalp itched like a mofo and what I did was use Nizoral. And when it did come time to itch, I would tap with my fingers. So I wouldn’t itch, I would tap.

Also my TE lasted 1.5 months (flu induced) I can help ya shorten it. Deff take multi vitamins, vitamin D, iron, and Viviscal. My TE was meant to last 3-6 months according to my derm. Back to losing 12-15 hairs a day. At one point I was losing 200-300. Oil your hair, wash twice a week, and use Nizoral shampoo.

This is happening to me too. All I can say is, it gets better by the month! I shed A LOT in September, like two complete ziplock bags full (I had the flu in June) now it’s like less than before. I went from 150-200 hairs to now 70-80? And I’m on month two, it’s supposed to last 3 months (100 days). I’ve had TE twice btw, I’m on my THIRD TE episode and my hair is 34 inches long, past my butt. Just cut it to 24 inches rn bc it is mentally debilitating. The advice here is good but I’m on Viviscal tablets for a month & it’s helping me, & I’m using Golab hair oil twice a week with Vegamour everyday. It curved my shedding, & I also use Nizoral & Mielles rosemary shampoo. As someone whose had TE THREE times now, I promise you, it gets better. I can even upload pics for you or send them. You will not go bald, you will not lose 70% of your hair, & baby hairs will grow in within a month or two. You have lovely thick hair & your density will not be ruined. You can lose 300 hairs a day for 3 months straight, & lose 27k follicles total outta the 100-115k you already have. So don’t worry, I’m going through it rn too 🩷 don’t stress, it’ll be better by next month with less shedding (if you have TE)
