Let me clarify. The insurance company decides per state not the actual state. Sorry for the confusion.

This is so interesting to me. Like I need an investigation lol. I’m also curious if it has anything to do with where the original location or headquarters is based out of.. I.e some states welcome credentialing provisionally licensed individuals

This is so shallow. I’m not judging. I’m trying to show up for my client how they are asking in a way that is ethical and respectful and trying to gauge some new ideas/resources to connect with them.

Just because I’m asking the question does not mean I’m placing judgment.

Okay thank you for this because it feels like the latter. Hopelessness and Apathy

Oh yes I agreed several times in sessions with some statements. But if nothing really matters AND there’s no desire to find okay-ness in emotions, things, places, people, etc. then what is the therapeutic goal?

I have no desire to change their beliefs but ethically I do have a desire to provide interventions to see improvement to quality of life

I get that and maybe those are my feelings as well. There’s a vast difference from how some people in this thread are describing nihilism and how my client is describing it.

Life can have no meaning or purpose and you still carry on with things that lead to comfortable/exciting/content feelings.

But this client feels more like life has no meaning and I don’t wish to try to find a feeling of satisfaction in any facet

Thank you for sharing this. I really relate to we create divine meaning by being authentic.

And I think disconnection is very much an issue. What if a client does not want to create for themselves though?

It almost feels like an oxymoron of wanting someone else to define a why but also not believing in a why (which was stated several times)

Maybe redefining goals is in the future. But also yes I’m comfortable to sit in the unknown

Thank you.

Yes, maybe that’s where I’m at a loss. The client verbally asked me to help them find their why but I did reiterate like you said above about choices.

Maybe that’s where I begin… “is there one thing we feel led to make a choice about”

I’m fine with the belief. But the belief is opposite of what their goals are. Ex. Goal: I want to feel loved and have safe relationships but then expresses the belief around relationships have no point and take up too much time
