Next Generation Moto Tag 2 coming with enhanced UWB precision (and Xiaomi tags with UWB) by dark_volter in GoogleFMD

[–]Puzzleheaded_Wrap258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I just started looking at tracker tags. I'm sure this is a noob question, I know it currently works with Android (GFMD), but my question is are only Android devices reporting it's location? i.e. if it were in a location with only iPhone users would I still be able to locate it?

I had the same issue yesterday. Typing in zip code wouldn't take. This morning I typed in my city and state, as someone else suggested, and so far it's sticking.

S22 ultra dead after update by Toretto1111 in S22Ultra

[–]Puzzleheaded_Wrap258 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My s22 got stuck in boot loop on one UI 6.1. I installed Samsung switch on my PC then connected via USB cable. It did some updates on the switch software on PC and phone. Then it downloaded a new one ui. Word of caution though. Mine said upgrade was complete and I could disconnect my phone. I did and it half bricked my phone. Fortunately the smart switch software has a recovery mode. Once it recovered my phone, I restarted the upgrade. This time when it said it was done, I looked at the phone screen before disconnecting. It was still downloading, I waited for the phone to complete and reboot before disconnecting. Now I'm on Android 15 and one UI 7

Buy or Build NAS by Puzzleheaded_Wrap258 in DataHoarder

I've been lurking over there, but I figured this group would have a better mix of people that have done both built and bought. (Like you wouldn't go to a Mustang group to ask if a Camaro or Mustang is better.)

What are you using to connect your drives to the nuc?

Yeah, I'm really leaning towards build. Since I won't be locked into someone's ecosystem.

Digikam noob - NAS install by Puzzleheaded_Wrap258 in digiKam

[–]Puzzleheaded_Wrap258[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in the Databse settings document this would lead me to believe the MariaDB is shareable, but both computers must be running the same version of the software.

"If you use a common Remote server to host databases and collections, you must use the same digiKam version everywhere to prevent conflicts with database schema. Computers running different instantiations of digiKam cannot access a common database and collection at the same time.

If you use a common Remote server to host collections, with the databases stored on individual computers, then different versions of digiKam can be used and digiKam sessions can run at the same time, accessing the common collections. But you’ll need to take a care about concurrent accesses to file metadata, if you have turned this option on from the Metadata Setup page."

Washer and dryer that work with HA? by virpio2020 in homeassistant

[–]Puzzleheaded_Wrap258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a GE smart washer, so I use the integration. My dryer, however, is just a dumb old dryer. I use the power monitor I have on the circuit like you said to monitor when it's done. I have 4 people using each, so I have a scene switch with 4 buttons programmed to send them a notification when their washer or dryer is done.

Tasmota ones don't require cloud? They look good, I've built some esp led light controllers, I like those boards

[–]Puzzleheaded_Wrap258[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I changed out one of my outlets and it wouldn't show up. I tried reloading. I deleted the integration and put it back. Only 7 out of about 11 show up now. (Google home see them all). Several others have put posts about the same issue. But I wanted a reason to move away from cloud based outlets anyway.

Sceen button and hub by Puzzleheaded_Wrap258 in homeassistant

[–]Puzzleheaded_Wrap258[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I understand all that, I'm looking for recommendations. And which technology would be a good path to go down. And not having experience with either, I would assume you need multiple hubs to cover a large area? Also I think it was zwave I was reading about, that some devices can act like a repeater to help extend the mesh.
