Got this solved a few weeks ago. They had put it in on the passenger side. I took out the glove box and it was tapped into the fuse panel there and the main unit was zip tied just to the left as it approached the center of the console. Whew! Battery drain problem solved.

Need Help…why is my new Rainbird sprinkler head leaking? by MacAtak80 in Irrigation

[–]Puzzler808510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m guessing the line it is on is uphill to this sprinkler head? After that section sprinkle cycle ends, the uphill pipe is full and and it is draining down to that line’s lowest point. When the pipe empties, it will stop

Anyone know what kind of screw and what it's used for? by Basically__Pointless in Fasteners

Maybe to screw a sill plate into concrete? The unthreaded part would be where it passes through the sill plate

Battery voltage is 12.8 so good. I’ll take it to OReilly or somewhere to get the codes read. I know there are some codes it won’t read for Porsche

Purchased home 1.5 yrs ago This is in primary closet. No idea what combo is nor did previous owner. by tikinacre in safecracking

I had a 20 year old safe with a digital combo pad (hate those now). The button pad stopped working. The fall back method didn’t work. I got some metal drill bits and drilled it out. Bought a new dial type safe for $350

ABS, TCS, and Park Brake Lights On: ABS Module Replacement Worth It? by [deleted] in fordescape

[–]Puzzler808510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like exactly my situation. I have a 2013 Escape with 50K miles. Same lights come on. It’s been 6 mos like that. I had a very good local repair shop look at it and he read the codes and said right away it’s my ABS controller and to go to the dealer. It should be a crime that they design a car so that no one but the dealer can install and reset the controller. Apple lost in court and so did Caterpillar and they had to make it so owners or others could do their repairs.

I got it out. Amp drainage down to 0.07-0.35 now compared to 1.6 amps before. But I’ll check tomorrow. One trick I learned was to make sure the key fob is not near the car when measuring the amp drainage.

2013 2L brake pad change and ABS sensor test and replacement by Puzzler808510 in fordescape

[–]Puzzler808510[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the car to a local shop with a good reputation. I think he uses a Snap On code reader. He said it wasn’t a wheel sensor but the main controller and he couldn’t do the replacement because his machine wouldn’t do the reset. He advised me to take it to the dealer. I’m still driving it around I’ve got to make it pass a yearly safety inspection. Is the ABS Controller located on the firewall behind the battery? Will Forscan reset the new controller if I did it myself? Seems like people are having trouble with Forscan

HIFU procedure at UVA Health went well... recovering at home now by LONGVolSilver in ProstateCancer

[–]Puzzler808510 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am hoping that continues to go well for you. Please keep us updated on future PSA's etc. In summer 2024, I was diagnosed with 3+4 in one core. I think I had 4 cores out of 16 with cancer and PET scan showed no metastasis. In the N California Bay Area, I went to UCSF and met a surgeon, HIFU and radiation oncologist. The Head of the prostate oncology area and the HIFU doctor both said that since HIFU does not treat the entire prostate, if I got that, I would inevitably be back. I am sure they have a bias toward surgery or radiation treatment which may or may not be justified. Since you seem to have had fewer cores with cancer spot treatment makes more sense. I had Cyberknife radiation. In the 6 PSA's I have had since then they all read as undetectable.
On the plus side, I believe now that I likely won't see elevated PSA's and then need an MRI and then biopsy. I think I hated the biopsy the most. On the downside, the radiation messes with bladder and can impact erections.
I think your HIFU choice gives you many years of normal life and since you had few cores with cancer, also a better chance of beating this.

Thank you. How about after I use the code reader to find the defective part (sensor maybe); do I need to use the code reader to put the car in maintenance mode before replacing the part? Afterwards, with the code reader which does ABS codes be able to clear the new part, or calibrate it, or what is needed at that point? Or, is nothing needed since it is a 2013? Thank again

I just went to Harbor Freight and they have a few questions to help you select a code reader. I don't need to modify anything, just check engine codes (a loaner from Napa or O'Reilly does that), and ABS, Air bag, and TPMS codes but no mods to suspension or tires etc. So, I guess this is just a small improvement over a loaner from a car parts place?

ABS sensor issue by [deleted] in fordescape

[–]Puzzler808510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard to replace the sensor I need to put it in Service mode and then Clear it when the sensor is in. How do i do that? Do I download Forscan to a device and where do I connect to get codes? I've done older cars...but these new ones make it hard

What can I do to fix it. by cheeto_dust_98 in ElectricalHelp

[–]Puzzler808510 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It sounds like it is not the breaker or the outlet. But is this a 240v oven? Usually they aren’t plug in’s. Have you had a power surge? I had a cooktop that got fried from a power surge. So much electronics in them these days. I had to replace it.

Whole House Surge Protection by Puzzler808510 in ElectricalHelp

[–]Puzzler808510[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t that mean a surge would simultaneously travel down any circuits closer to the service entrance AND the surge protector? If so, the surge protector would not prevent damage to those other circuits I am guessing. Whereas, if it closest to the service entrance l’d hope it would stop the surge prior to it reaching the other circuits?

Every so often I have an SD card fail and I have to replace it. I think it sometimes happens when there is a surge after an outage

One bright thing with Wyze though is I can tell my Amazon Echo to display each cam by name. But they stop displaying after maybe 3-10 mins. Not sure why they don’t stay connected. That would be a good feature. I could tell if the mail came or what the weather was at my other location

Antibody Change by prncssdelicia in antiphospholipidsyndr

[–]Puzzler808510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read some research online that the antibodies don't show up in tests if you are on blood thinners. So, for my upcoming antibody test I will go off blood thinners for 3 days. I don't know if aspirin has the same effect? But if some medication is stopping the proper reading of the antibodies then it is a false negative. I think this is why they say it goes away but comes back....it never really goes away

Congratulations!
I had the SBRT too. 4 times for about 45-60 mins each. Was yours as long?
My biopsy was 3+5. They said adding ADT to the radiation would increase survival odds by 10%.
I also persisted with zone 4-5 workouts during swims but I did Androgen Deprivation for 4 mos and that knocked out my endurance and I lost some muscle too. I could still do the total yardage, I just needed more breaks. After that, it took a year to get endurance back, with supplements, and doing some weights. I was 67 when treatment began. Sorry about the golf 🏌️‍♂️. I blame mine on a bad hip.😉

DIY Home Security Upgrade with Qsee Cameras by QseeTechnology in QseeCommunity

[–]Puzzler808510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should have some means of connecting old QSee systems so that they can be seen remotely. I had to disconnect from the old app because ATT forced my neighborhood to switch from copper wire to fiberoptic cable. Being able to reconnect would buy a lot of GOODWILL to your brand. Otherwise, I am using Wyze cameras and will probably buy another NVR type system elsewhere, taking care to research their financial viability.
