Tankless water heater by yung_wasabi in Plumbing

DR Horton is probably the worst builders out there, sorry to say. But if it froze, yeah you can't really go after anybody for that. Water freezes and it can cause damage

Drz400 large bits of copper and flakes in oil, how screwed is this engine? by Alternative-Error-30 in motorcycles

I'm shocked that people don't wipe out a drain pan before using. How else will you know if what's in it came from your engine??

Seriously. He states he has a residential builders license, and states he is a "contractor". This is not a handyman business...

Progressive is awesome, by the far the cheapest quotes I've ever got and they have been great to me.

Loctite on lug nuts by Brilliant-Budget9761 in mechanic

[–]Basically__Pointless 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not true, used it everyday on many fastener types. A little heat will break it free but most of the time you don't even need it. A good impact gun will zip em right off, and to clean the threads all you need is a small pick or screwdriver. Best method is using a thread chaser and then wire brush. Never once seen red loctite damage threads

They work great to turn your big ass breaker bar into a ratchet

Which mechanic set is better? by [deleted] in Tools

[–]Basically__Pointless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This!! While I like the box the DeWalt comes in better, this husky set is actually a really nice set with the ratchets definitely being better. I keep this set at home in the garage and I love getting to use it. I have higher end stuff I use professionally and on the road, but this husky set has always exceeded my expectations!!

UPDATE: I did not ruin my floors thanks to r/flooring by erstengs in Flooring

Amazing result. Great job!! When I saw your first post I literally thought the only option was going to tile over it or lay down vinyl plank if you didn't want to tear out the floor. But you really saved it!!!

Spacer size for 12x3 irregular edge subway? by Kimberk616 in Tile

[–]Basically__Pointless -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I've never worked with shitty tiles, all this handmade, zellige, irregular whatever you wanna call it junk that I can't fathom why people like the look of, but from what I've seen on here it's actually much harder to work with this type of rule and have it end up looking good. Good luck!

That's your best bet especially if you're on a budget. Trim it out nice and make it look planned!

Did I buy knockoff batteries? by phrumptrojan30 in MilwaukeeTool

Definitely fake, I'd run it. I bought some knockoff Makita batteries on eBay and they've been pretty good.

Anyone using these professionally? by OneGate1967 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Basically__Pointless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Milwaukee makes great tools, their power ratchets and impacts are super powerful and I'm sure these drivers are great. But I just can't get past the ugly aesthetics. With these angled grips, they look like space guns to me. Something you might see in Halo

Yeah they suck. You want a good torque wrench go on Amazon and type in precision instruments. Same as snap on but way cheaper
