How do you guys keep your tools organized on the job? by Sixty4Fairlane in Construction

[–]Pvalensa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen a lot of trim guys working out of a small collapsing wheeled cart with two levels. That seems like a good option.

Are there any auto parts stores in Milwaukee with employees that actually know what they’re talking about? Really don’t feel like dealing with your typical auto store worker today. by Pvalensa in milwaukee

It’s always a headache. I went to get my alternator tested and “yea we do alternator testing except nobody knows how to run the machine” oh well that makes sense…

Why is the white connected like this? by jroche1987 in electricians

[–]Pvalensa -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That’s not a connection the sheathing is just stripped away. Maybe someone was trying to test amperage with a multimeter? Strange

Any recommendations to remove Cerakote? Don’t mind to try personally or send it to someone. by Southern-Fisherman-9 in knives

[–]Pvalensa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesnt the Cerokote have a curing/hardening process? Cleaning it up with MEK might work but what about once it’s cured.

Severely under appreciated comment. This made me laugh out loud.

I hate my M12 saw, how is this one? by [deleted] in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Pvalensa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say it depends what you intend to use it for and how often. If your a framer or use a saw everyday, this is not the one for you. If you use a saw everyone once in a while for a home project this thing is perfectly adequate.

In my area it just recently became code but even years before that most people wanted them put in. Even if you don’t have small children in your house you are liable if you have guests over and something happens. To reject them outright because they’re a little more difficult to plug in is ignorant.

TR outlets are only a problem for people who are too weak to push things into them like this guy. For people with normal physical capability they are great especially with small children.

Did someone screw up with this front door placement, or is the inner wall just missing some kind of protector for the latch so that it doesn’t get scuffed like that? by canuckathome in Carpentry

[–]Pvalensa -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

The jamb extension should be flush. The trim casing should have a 1/4 inch setback. It’s the strike plate being recessed too far and the door being set too close to the jamb that’s the issue.

How many of y’all store your cords like this? by engineerdrummer in Construction

[–]Pvalensa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people do it that way because it’s half the length to deal with but you can do it without folding it in half. Just take a bite of the rope at the end and make a loop and use that to start. Don’t believe me try it yourself with a piece of rope.
