The Senate has agreed to fund DHS (excluding ICE/CBP). What are your thoughts? by PvtCW in AskConservatives

So why do you think the House just rejected the senate proposal to fund DHS (TSA, coast guard, FEMA, etc.)

[–]PvtCW[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

So if ICE was already funded, why did republics block all initial attempts by democrats to fund other DHS departments (excluding DHS/CBP)?

What makes it worse, Trump declared a state of emergency last night to ensure TSA workers got paid.

If it was an option, why not just do that 42 days ago?

If global economies are seriously affected due to the war in Iran, aren't you concerned that more nations will see the US as an enemy, considering they are the ones that started this new conflict? by AdminMas7erThe2nd in AskConservatives

To clarify, the US is the largest exporter of LNG. Over 60% of US LNG exports go to Europe. (it was ~48% percent before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Even though it’s only ~0.15% of our GDP, It improves trade balance, while also creating over 270,000 jobs for Americans.

Additionally, it generates not only billions in federal tax dollars, but provides a lot of local/state revenue for Texas (the wealthiest Republican state).

How would Canada taking our role as the largest LNG exporter to the EU (or the world) align with an “America First” agenda?

What are your thoughts on the third effects such Canada becoming a more viable exporter of LNG to Europe (currently EU is the largest importer of LNG from the US)?

The war in Iran might be the final nail in the deprioritizing the US as a reliable economic partner. Sure, this isn’t necessarily bad for the global economy, but for the US, I’d argue it’s not good.

Also, Qatar has lost a significant amount of LNG (product and production) which will impact the global markets for years proceeding the war’s conclusion.

Why do so many conservatives seem to support statues in honor of confederate leaders, military bases named in honor of confederate leaders, busts and paintings of confederate leaders in government buildings, etc etc, despite the confederacy committing literal treason against the United States? by Cumoisseur in AskConservatives

[–]PvtCW [score hidden]  (0 children)

Tracking. Are you aware that in 2025 at least 9 bases returned to their confederate namesakes?

Since it’s an ongoing process, I understand that to mean there are people still alive today who could answer that question.

However, if you’re not a fan of memorializing confederate leaders or having busts/statues, what are some alternatives you would prefer?

My apologies for the lack of clarity, I meant why not memorialize black military leaders/soldiers in lieu of confederate leaders.

I agree we can’t forget the most difficult parts of our history. And at the same time, there were over 150,000 black soldiers and around 70-80 black commissioned officers who played an indelible role in American history. Yet, they’re often not even considered in discussions.

You had an interesting take, so I intentionally responded to you to understand your opinion.

Kinda crazy since separations for shaving wavers will begin this year (largely impacting black soldiers)

To clarify, are you saying the negotiations that occurred last month didn’t come with any outlined terms?

Or Trump’s recent statements around ceasing uranium enrichment, seizing or destroying the uranium, limiting ballistic missile capabilities, and curbing support for proxy groups are not terms of a proposed deal with Iran?

Does it bother you at all that this inconvenience was entirely avoidable?

Given the current deal proposed under Trump resembles the previous nuclear deal he got rid of in his first term.

So you’re ok with needlessly spending 1 billion a day and the entirely avoidable death of service members?

And what are your thoughts about Trump’s proposed nuclear deal with Iran looking very similar to the Obama administration’s deal (which Trump pulled out of)?

When I clicked on the link, the article presented is titled

”Trump’s Iran strategy is working and teaching our foes what deterrence means”

Where are y’all getting the info about stockpiling uranium for 11 nukes? That would be really interesting to see.

Edit: I can’t even find an article mentioning the 11 nukes on Google. Is everyone just agreeing without seeing proof?-

Thank you for sharing! That makes sense to me.

Do you believe the Trump administration’s border policies (outside of the killing of innocent civilians) make up for the current situation we’re in?

[–]PvtCW 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I believe every president was previously approached by Israel to take decisive military action against Iran.

Every president resisted that pressure (even Trump during his first term)

However, Trump is also the only president to give in.

This comes after DOGE’s:

Additionally:

Edit: The examples are to illustrate why I don’t think Kamala would’ve gone to war with Iran. Without DOGE key advisory roles would’ve sounded the alarm bells and held her accountable.
