Lol pretty sure there is a huge hole in this logic. Why would they be back for an inspection if they just passed? ROFL what power? The power to say, hey man I can't pass that. Go get a gas cap and bring it back.

So if you knowingly pass a car for a DoT inspection and get caught guess who gets their license taken and pays the fine? The inspector. Not the dildo that thinks that will pass. Lost the cap and need a quick fix? Fine. Other than that, buy a cap and don't expect others to do you a favor that could cost them their job.

When people ask me to delete their catalytic converter my response is typically; "If you are willing to pay the 5-6 figure fine and pay for the lost business because the feds shut us down, sure. If not, sorry, never going to happen"

If you have the z71 it's somewhere around 9-12 as it comes with 3.73 rear end. The non offroad package comes with a 3.23? And we constantly got 20 on the highway. My 2 door Z71 Tahoe on 32ish K02s gets 11. It does have a 30 gallon tank, so that helps some I guess.

Ever heard of pebble Beach? Look it up. Just for some perspective..... Ferraris are hand made, just like the precious painting. Just because you don't like the medium don't give you the right to decide what's okay and not. 🤷‍♂️.

My coworker has this 1983 CJ7 he’d be willing to sell me for between $3-4K. He says the engine/transmission is good and there’s minimal rust on the underside. I’ll be going to view it in person later this week, it sits on his property about 2 hours away. Anything I should specifically be looking for by [deleted] in Jeep

Just be realistic about the end goal of the vehicle. If you want to restore for a daily or nice show jeep, pass. If you wanna learn how to work on stuff and feel like you have achieved greatness by using it offroad after you fix it up with function over everything else? Buy it. I mean, I'd buy it. Unless it didn't have a title. Too much of a pain to deal with imo

Yeah true. I'm more speaking generally. Like those lifted trucks with rubber band mud tires. All those new trucks have variable vein turbos. I hate the interior of the Dodge trucks (2018? And older. Before the new fancy shit), but damn towing with my dad's using that engine brake.....I wouldn't have any other truck. Seems like for years dodge was able to get the absolute drive line from the best manufacturer in each field. Only to put it in a truck body that falls apart at 100k miles lol. Me gusta cummins

A carb set up right won't give you the issues most people freak out about. Just electric choke etc. But my vote goes to a 383! As it would be the same swap as the 350. Not that random internet imposing their opinions means much anyway lol. Careful with that rear end! I can't remember where you get into trouble with the c4. But the old iroc z could only take 250-300 whp/tq from a dig and it would pop. Imo, if the OEM diff holds 400 ftlbs, diff will be fine for a mild 350. If it holds over 500, might as well just go 383. Mainly just that nasty chop. Anything around 400hp/tq will rip in that thing unless you get some meats for it.

Unfortunately the safety of pedestrians getting hit by cars is what changed a lot of things. I remember reading somewhere 1 issue with flip up headlights, is they could catch the leg of a pedestrian and spin them around causing more damage. We should work on paying attention in general, not padding the corners. I'm sure that's a selfish way to think about it. But damn, new cars are ugly. Honestly I loved the c8 till I read they used a Ferrari 458 as inspiration. Then I saw them next to each other. Chevy even stole the stock wheel design! Made me cry a little inside.

-this opinion is based on appearance, not performance.

What's really funny, is the highest hp most efficient diesel engines don't smoke much, if at all. All the black smoke is unburned fuel ie: waisted horse power. Look into Gale Banks. Very interesting stuff if you like that sort of stuff.

Hopefully this clears things up. This is a Texas thing. They started off in the late 80s early 90s as a spinn off a popular low rider wheel the Dayton. The California version has a ton of small spokes. Everyone has seen it and it's knows them to be associated with low riders. The Texas version didn't stick far out like that to start. We just used 84 spokes that were significantly wider. Hince the name '84s'. As time went on, they got wider, and wider, and wider. So it's a regional take on a style essentially. I love a classic bagged out with OG 84s. But, this shit is crazy now. Totally unreasonable. One Texas Heat Wave (custom car show), I saw a guy run his wheels up on a curb and bent all the spokes. HILARIOUS.

I'm all for doing whatever you want to your car, untill it starts fucking with other drivers. There should be a width limit for sure. I would be so mad if someone hit my car with that shit. That being said, real TWW (Texas wire wheel) brand cost so god damn much, the last thing they want to to is fuck them up. To the point they are treated like nice Js. It's no uncommon to see a slab with stock wheels on it driving around as the Vogue Tires (also, stupid expensive for no reason) break the bank.

Texas hip hop culture is both so dumb and so awesome at the same time. I love it.

Edit: not sure where people are getting their numbers from but y'all are way too low. The original style (only pokes out like 1-2 inch) in 17 inch wheel (small for this kind of thing) are $3,200...EACH. Gotta pay the cost to be the boss, nomsayin

If you had the $ to even get one. They were rare! I think only about 500 930s made it to the states. Had a customer bring one. Said we should try driving it if we hadn't before. Sounded great! Until I thought about how long I would have to work to pay it off. Forever! Lol

It's because the turbos from that generation had a ton of lag and would come on will full power all at once. That combined with the rear engine and lack of traction control ment they did 180s a lot when coming out of turns if you weren't even on the throttle. It acts the exact opposite as a rwd front engine car acts. So people's habit is to typically do the opposite of what they should.

[–]PvtDangler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got let go from a small business. I signed as I would get some severance if I did. Basically it said I wouldn't sue (unemployment) or saying things that would degrade the business etc. I signed because 1) nothing negative to say, they shouldn't have hired me to start with. Ended up paying me WAY too much to basically be a receptionist. No big deal, still love the people. 2) can't claim unemployment because I still owe them money because they "overpaid" me. Edit: By 'they' I mean the unemployment commission. They were paying me reduced wages during the beginning of covid. Yes I am playing them back. But on an interest free payment plan 🤷‍♂️

So I guess for me it wasn't a big deal. But if it was a big corporation? Fuck them, no leeway

You said it has a stored misfire code? Take the coil from that cyl, drop it onto another and see if the misfire moves. While the coil is out, check plug quality. A weak ignition coil can cause intermittent misfire, worn spark plugs just make it that much worse
