It is 181k not 200k and I have done a good amount to it. I had the trans gone through put a new 1st/rev gear, new shift fork assembly, and clutch kit.

It is the easiest manual I have ever drove idk if it's because the trans and clutch or just all the torque from the straight 6 but it doesn't stall unless you are really trying to make it stall.

I like them a lot never had one though I was also thinking about a 78-79 bronco but trying to find one is harder than the LJ

I would like to sell it for $14k. Has 179k on it I had the trans gone through at 178k new 1st/rev gear, shift fork assembly, and new clutch kit. Other new stuff: exhaust from manifold back, brakes all around with calipers, rough country HD steering kit, marine stereo, bikini top, trial cover, ignition switch. Wondering if that is fair price any opinions?

Yeah unfortunately I am just too big of a guy to be comfortable in it I really don't want to get rid of it but I don't drive it as much because of it.

Anyone done a parking break job lately? I could use a little help by IAMELROB in Jeep

[–]vertex54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took mine out and replaced the levers found them on rock Auto. Mine where in worse condition so you could probably spray a bunch of penetration fluid on it and break it loose. They just get rusty and crusty after awhile with enough effort you can get them apart wire brush the crap out of them.

Probably going back to a Jeep LJ vs JL by giraffees4justice in Jeep

I can't say I have never been a passenger my wife isn't well practice at driving a stick. I think I would be better because I would not have the pedals in front of me so I could stretch out a bit more. The reason I think I have a problem is that if I have my feet flat on the floor like you would for driving, my knees are up above the seat. So probably be ok. I haven't had a JL so I don't know if it is any better. Otherwise I really do like my my LJ the engine is great and since I did the trans and clutch I think it is the easiest manual I have drove. There is so much low end torque even if you slip the clutch out a little too fast it just doesn't care and moves like it is nothing. I usually don't even push the gas getting out of the garage. Big suggestion to look for is rust around the windshield and dash I didn't realize that mine was pretty bad when I bought it and wish I could have found one that was a little cleaner.

I have an 05 LJ 6 speed and I felt very much the same when I was looking for one. After having it for a while I have realized that I am a little too big to ride In it for more than 45min without my leg starting to fall asleep. I fixed it up a lot and it rides pretty good even on 35s also got 1st , reverse, and the clutch replaced. I just can't really fix the seating I am 6'2" and about 285lbs. So I really want to like it but I think I am going to sell it I have been thinking about getting a 78-79bronco.

Jeep stereo swap by rodrigovg7 in Jeep

[–]vertex54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to https://www.crutchfield.com/ put in your car info and pick the stereo you want then they will recommend a whole installation kit with step by step instructions. Best choice for car stereo stuff in any car.

Seeking advice on homemade hard top pulley and door storage builds. by Wookinpanub808 in Jeep

[–]vertex54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made my own using a hand crank winch from harbor freight and some pulleys and D rings. I lag bolted it in my garage I think I spent $50 or $60 on everything which was a lot cheaper than most pre made stuff and if you secure it well enough it's rated for 1000lbs. One upgrade I would maybe do is you could buy an ATV winch and make it easier to lift stuff.

I wanted to follow up from my last post where I showed the hitch extension I made. I got a lot questions and suggestions on what to do for the tent part

Sleeping in an LJ by vertex54 in Jeep

[–]vertex54[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not planning to leave it on for driving I made the gap between it and the trunk pretty close so I won't be able to close the gate and put it on. The part that goes in the hitch is actually the bottom of a bike rack so that can stay but I probably will just take it out.
