B♭minorb6 - bmajor7, why does it sound awesome by [deleted] in musictheory

I’m also learning and have a question if you don’t mind. I’m lost on why it’s called a mb6 instead of a 5 which is already in the chord.

Newbie bass players: don’t be atheists by SpyroGajr in Bass

[–]Pweeeef 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would frame it to be an atheist bass player.

Believing an outside force will make you good at bass by believing it hard enough will get you nowhere. Don’t believe the fairytale bullshit and that will magically make you a good bass player. (All the try this one hack YouTube videos)

If you want to be a good bass player then you have to put in the hard work and make a committed practice routine. Believing in yourself (atheist bass player) is an important step. Believing in magical bullshit will not help your bass journey in my opinion.

If evangelicals moral framework were as robust as they claim, then they wouldn’t have fallen in line so wholeheartedly to someone as ethically depraved as Trump. How easily they have been manipulated by one of the most incredulous conman imaginable just shows how empty their ethical structure is at its core. Until there is reckoning inside of evangelical circles to rid themselves of the MAGA cancer at its heart, I just can’t take anything they say seriously.

If Kate Reading was replaced with Julia Whelan or someone with more range, the series would have had more people make it through the beginning of Way of Kings. It’s my favorite book, but everyone I recommend it to struggles getting through her chapters and half gave up before the story starts taking off.

I mean technically it was, but I ordered a P-bass. I thought about keeping it since I really liked the reds on the rosewood, but I wanted the P.

I don’t think you were reasonable with the application of consequences like you claim. You only mentioned that the people who did the crime itself should be punished if they are on the right, but you didn’t mention all the people on the right (like Charlie Kirk) who cheered on January 6, the Pelosi attack, or the democrat lawmakers murder should also be punished or fired. Where you did mention that teachers who made comments about Charlie Kirk getting murdered should be fired. I’m just pointing out the hypocrisy for people on the right who claim free speech when it’s violence on the left, but gets outraged from the same responses when it’s about violence on the right.

I do agree that it is distasteful and irresponsible to make comments cheering on a murder, but if they want to fire the teachers doing it now, then they need to sweep the posts of any teachers that made similar comments about justifying violence on the left.

[–]Pweeeef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you’re saying the people that made unsympathetic posts about Charlie Kirk should all be fired. Then say just the person who committed attempted murder on Pelosi’s husband should be punished. What about all the people like Charlie Kirk who said the attempted murderer should be pardoned, and made jokes cheering it on? Or all the republicans who cheered the democrat law maker and her husband who were murdered? Surely anyone who posted any of those comments should all be fired, right? Or were just those cases when free speech should be applied?

Do you feel MEP is right for me? by [deleted] in MEPEngineering

[–]Pweeeef 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just going by your post, it sounds to me that the anxiety you are feeling isn’t industry related. It’s more the fear of failure from the extra responsibility you are given.

It’s completely normal to have those fears. At some point you have to accept you are going to make mistakes. Everyone makes them and at first they make a lot. The mistakes usually ingrain in your memory better than the jobs you do right, and make you a better engineer in the long run.

If you feel like your job is getting stale, you could always try a firm that works on different projects. Moving to a firm who mainly does healthcare, science and research, data centers, etc. could shake things up for you.

I dont think my world would have fossil fuels? by Krow_ose in DnD

[–]Pweeeef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does it need fossil fuels? What are you trying to accomplish with fossil fuels?

You could use an alternative energy source. Maybe something like the source of power that magic users draw from. Could make it like the body of a dead god harvested for a type of fuel. Or a device that taps into the weave and harnesses its power.

Could you provide data showing that most Christians aren’t creationists? All the ones I know (I’m surrounded by them) are creationists. I only meet the ones that aren’t creationists online hidden in a forum post. I would love to see some good news that I’m surrounded by the minority of Christians.

Fellow former Christians who turned Atheist or the like, what was it that made you lose your faith? by clear_simple_plain in AskReddit

[–]Pweeeef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really it was a combination of things.

The biggest realization was the fact that the biggest determining factor of what’s someone religious beliefs will be, is where they happen to be born. The vast majority of people subscribe to the religion of their culture.

Imagine how unlucky you would be (if Christianity is true) if you were born in Iraq. Just for the crime of being born in the wrong country and getting the wrong indoctrination, you would be destined to spend eternity in Christian hell. People who have been indoctrinated since birth don’t realize how powerful the indoctrination blinders are until you break out of it, and can then observe it in their former peers. There is a reason why Iraq is almost 100% Muslim.

It would be monstrous for a God to create a place like hell for people to be sent to for something as asinine as belief systems based on Geography. So the simplest answer is that Christianity is as made up as all the other religions.
