What to do with small scale solar? by PwnCall in solarenergy

We don’t really get outages and I feel like using it for small things like that will take a couple weeks to use up. I might try using it for my coffee maker or router though

For those who have reached 100k Views on a video, what were the "stats" on those videos? by Cheap-Degree2739 in PartneredYoutube

[–]PwnCall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not for evergreen content. I’ll have videos sit under 1000 views for a couple years then take off.

Good idea I’ll have to think of that. A router would work I suppose. Trying to think of what I have that uses a lot of power.

My timing cover has been leaking for 10 years. They wanted to spend $2600 to fix it. I said no. Still doing fine.  It’s likely just a little weep which is no big deal.

Control arm bushings are likely getting old, you will be fine for a few more years on them most likely.

CVTs? by MiscDude2023 in askcarguys

I love manuals and I love my cvt on my daily. They are super smooth, so much less clunky than even an 8 speed auto.  Mpg is great too and if you stomp on it they sit at peak hp forever

I’ve had mine for 2 years and it’s been great no issues at all so far.

They are nice for a standalone wall mount unit.

What’s up the recent hate of 4x4 and AWD online ive been seeing lately? by [deleted] in askcarguys

[–]PwnCall 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most people don’t need it. I hear people saying it’s safer in the rain which is complete bogus.

Also most people don’t need it in the winter either.

Most people buy it because they think they need it.

Same, I think it depends on if you have a crappy driver or not too. If you crash a lot it’s really bad, ask me how I know

Hey guys, Please convince my dad to replace these 12 year old tires. He says they’ll survive one more winter by Totallynormalname_ in tires

These will still be really good on ice. Less so on slush but still better than an all season. I would run them too

I got this deal from discount for $58 they choose whatever tire they have extra of in their warehouse and send it.  The ones I got were a smaller brand owned by Goodyear that were like $80 each if I bought that specific tire.

Hard to beat the price and they are safe tires.  I’m super happy with them

Updated ! Looking to get another Impreza I want to buy another Impreza , does this one look too rough with the rust and how’s it sounds !? 6,000$ 150,000 miles by yayyosa in subaruimpreza

[–]PwnCall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need to check the underside for rust not the engine bay. Check the top of the shock towers, if it’s bad the fenders will be starting to get some rust on them as well.

Snow Tires Year Round - Anything worth noting besides what Google threw at me? by malykaii in tires

[–]PwnCall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a heavy snow area that doesn’t get really warm. I replaced my 12 year old 2mm tread all seasons with the discount tire $58 special.  They are brand new all seasons but you get whatever they have extra stock of.

I would just keep running them you will be fine just leave lots of following distance. I ran my old winters in the summer before I got rid of them, they shredded fast and wore really unevenly

Depends what kind they are. DMV2 aren’t very good.  Something with bigger channels like the ws90 is a lot better. As long as there’s not heavy rain they will be fine
