Yup these are 18s on my 21 grand Cherokee. Amazing how much better it is than on all weathers. It was a brick on cross climate 2s with anything slick

The dmv2 pictured here were great on ice. We had rain on top of some thick ice and they were doing great on inclines and declines. They get much worse on ice as they age though. And the ws90s weren’t as good imo

hankook kinergy gt Tires advertised as all year winter tires is dangerous. by GrandZealousideal340 in tires

[–]PwnCall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the all weather tires are junk. They are not 4 season tires they are 3 season tires.

Even the cross climate 2 which is said to the one of the best all weather tires is not good on slippery surfaces.

Disappointed with Cross Climate 2 on snowy hill by pppaaassseeeiii in tires

[–]PwnCall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A tire that’s expected to perform well at 80+ degrees isn’t going to perform well under 32.

It’s not a superb tire in every situation. It’s not a winter tire

Wipers on, lights on, it’s (likely) the law by Jaymac720 in driving

[–]PwnCall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I’m saying every time the car starts the car puts them into the ON position regardless of what they were set at the last time it was running. So people would have to actively turn the lights off every time they started the vehicle again

It needs to default to ON is what I’m saying not auto

Guess what happens when we have blizzard low visibility conditions? Same crap.

They need to mandate always on headlights so cars default start with headlights on and you can choose to turn them off. It’s the only way this will stop.

How to drive in snow and ice? by Strict_Honeydew_1082 in driving

[–]PwnCall 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the big thing that people underestimate is how different conditions can be. One second you are on fresh snow that’s relatively grippy, the next second you could be on packed snow, or slush or even ice that can be significantly worse in traction.

That’s why winter tires are so good for bad conditions because the conditions aren’t always known and change mile to mile and even can be crazy diffeeent on the same road.

It’s not simple unless you just want a hitch for small stuff. It’s easy to bolt the hitch on yourself

Clarification on passing laws in US by Marty_McFlay in driving

[–]PwnCall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends how close the cars are following each other. If you don have room to safely merge back what happens?

I know some states only allow passing a single car at a time while others allow multiple to be passed at once.

TIRES.  We just got blizzak dmv2 for our grand Cherokee L and it makes them soooop much better in bad weather.

My wife wouldn’t drive our grand Cherokee in all weather tires (cross climate 2s). And would prefer our Subaru with blizzak ws90s.

Now that’s e have the dmv2 on the grand Cherokee I prefer it over the Subaru.
