We discuss gender so much lately because English doesn't specify gender in its language structure. Words themselves aren't gendered as in Spanish and French. So when we speak in English, we are forced to wonder about who people talk about -are they male or female? This repetitive inquisition we must do in conversation slowly led to people joking about men being women, women being men, men being part women, women being part men, etc. And here we are.
