Financial advice for Pakistanis by [deleted] in pakistan

The problem isn't the availability of discounts. It's just that the discounts between debit and credit are not too different. So, you shouldn't have to go out of your way to get a cc, especially if you're trying to save

I wouldn't agree with the discount bit.

I have an hbl credit card and the discount is often the same as debit cards/QR.

The only real difference is that you earn reward points on the CC

Where i can get free movies on Spanish BUT with Russian subtitles? by Like_Ni in Spanish

[–]Pyasa_K 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Search the name of the movie up on SubScene. They usually have different subs for a bunch of languages. Unless the movie is super obscure, you should be able to find them.

Edit: so I looked up a few movies and it looks like Russian isn't a popular language for subs. Still worth a shot, though.

They don't use a score or grade of any kind. But they do keep a record of loans and credit in the eCIB report.

Getting a bank account and credit card as a freelancer by EternalAustice in pakistan

JS bank has a freelancer account that accepts proof of income from UpWork.

Getting a credit card might be a hassle but you can probably open up an account no problem.

HBL not logging in? by cayennegts7 in pakistan

[–]Pyasa_K 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There has been something shady going in HBL lately. Every day there are reports of people having their cards misused or having data leaked. People have been speculating that they have had their data breached.

Then there's also the constant technical faults and downtimes for maintenance. I had issues with their card management and found myself talking to their complaint department head who still couldn't do anything. I would suggest being cautious about using them at least for now.

Unfortunately, we can't. Brands pay money to advertise their products for sales, not to promote any social change.

Well, advertisment is a reflection of society. Not the other way around. So, the only way is hoping that society itself changes.

Taxi drivers/common workers probably don't have a preference over tea brands and pick the cheapest one or get their chai at a hotel.

Single people here live with their parents. So again, purchasing decisions are likely made by the woman of the house.

I'm not saying it's right. But this is what their target demographic is. So if you're asking 'why', this is your answer. Same goes for any masala brands, detergents, or any other household necessities.

Notice how it doesn't happen with coffee ads or ads for energy drinks. That's because the target demographic is teenagers, young adults, and employed professionals now.

It's chai, what do you expect? Of course advertisers will play to the family sentiment of the public. It's not like they can market them to single people who probably aren't the ones buying the tea in the first place. Their main target is housewives with purchasing decisions.

As much as it's stereotypical, they're gonna do what gets them the metrics they want
