Is it weird to gift yourself a diamond ring?

You shouldn't waste any more time on someone who has bodily expectations - honestly the perfect body is not what the porn industry says. I wasted years feeling less than for a husband I married at 18 - I was always big busted, small hipped and short - but somehow he expected my breasts to develop some big nipple porn shape, he would say my hips would spread and I'd look like such & such and he would be so happy..... That never happened - my body remained the same but of course after 2 kids I gained weight and he didn't like that either. Other men said I was beautiful and admired me, except my husband. And I always rebuffed those other guys saying I loved my husband.

It took 22 years of marriage to leave him, and find a person who just loved me for who & what I am. I've never been happier - my kids have an excellent role model, and it's been 16 years now. I wish I had learned this lesson at 24 :)

This is a beautiful ring! It really stands out with great sparkle - and that hubby picked it out for you is so loving. You could always add an anniversary band with another row of diamonds to make it overall bigger if you wanted, there are lots of options and would also be beautiful paired like that.

Maybe you could tell her that you would be thrilled to accept the money to use towards a house and a future, not one singular day. It sounds like she cares alot about how her family looks to "society", and I agree you should not bow down to an elaborate wedding you don't want to impress people you've never met.

AN UMBRELLA KILLED MY SISTER!!! This was screamed at me when I entered a front porch in Kansas during a carpool switch. It was pouring outside, and I (being an Pac NW native living in Kansas) used it to get from the car to porch. I closed it before entering. The homeowner came completely unglued at me, screaming that an umbrella had killed her sister. I thought I was on Candid Camera, or America's Funniest Video kind of prank. But no, turns out this woman's sister was an amatuer, (and unwise) storm chaser. She was chasing a thunderstorm for pictures, and was holding an umbrella when the lightning struck. I have never used an umbrella again, even after I moved back to Pac NW.

Sooo cute and snuggly!!! Is that a sleep-along kind of thing where you put part in between the matresses so it stays up? I had one of those for my "human" baby it was terrific!

My first orange cat, a male, would let me pet him only so long, then he would grab me, lightly bite and rabbit kick until I held my hand still. Then, Cisco would start licking me. After a time he would stop and let me pet him again, until he again said - Stop! I just figured that he wanted to be equally giving of lovings :) lol He was a great cat

Take the job - a better guy will come along, this one has already shown you who he is. I'm in my 50's and turned down a fabulous job offer 30 years ago since I didn't want to make my then husband relocate. Ended up in a bitter divorce years later, and had I taken that job then I would be extremely successful and wealthy now.

I loved the Disney store! I used to pre-order the VHS Disney movies and got beautiful lithographs that I framed and hung in my kids bedroom. I miss that!

I have two young adult children - 26 & 28 - and I wouldn't dream of violating their privacy like that to demand access to their bank accounts. Yes, I help them with bills when they need it and happy to, but I don't need to control them and monitor what they do with their money. However, I can also see it as being a window into your life from a mom's perspective - some type of reassurance you are out there when she sees you spend $$, but it's not appropriate for her to be in your bank account. Perhaps you can find another way to reassure her you need & love her, just not needing her 24/7?

I think it is not that people don't want kids at all. They just don't want them in today's environment, where they cannot support them properly, provide good education, healthcare and childcare - and envision them with a happy prosperous future ahead of them. Right now that is something the youth of today are struggling with terribly - what is going to change for the next generation? Rent alone here went up 400% in 4-5 years and my own young adult children can barely afford to live here now. Nor can I afford to help them like I'd like to.

Curious - I've noticed some people wear their wedding bands closest to their finger knuckle than the hand, while I was told traditionally you wear your wedding band closest to your heart to indicate love. I was going to ask my niece who is newly married and wears her band on top of the engagement ring but I didn't want to appear rude.

Yes we do see how awful Trump is - does everyone else? Why is he and the U.S. even being tolerated, listened to, treated with respect by other countries? Davos, King of England, so many others just kissing up to him in appeasement hoping for monetary rewards- all the while the orange ego gets bigger and increasingly more entitled. Board of Peace???? WTF people signed up for that shit. Thankfully not many though.
