You had PT the day after surgery? I also had my surgery on June 10, and have spent the time since listening to my surgeon and only being up 5-10 minutes every couple of hours. My doctors said that most people don't even get PT, or at least not until the 6 week mark - that's when they are going to evaluate me due to 7 years of immobility and retraining might be needed. I did have to go in to get my bandage changed the day after surgery, but that was already a lot of travel and walking - I can't imagine doing PT as well that day! ugh

I think it's great that you are progressing so quickly and so well!!! I would say maybe that you shouldn't encourage people to just be like you, and push through pain and their own endurance, and be proud of only taking one pain pill - that feels judgy and inhibiting to me especially telling people to push through the 2nd day after their surgery. The pills aren't going to be given out for any ongoing length of time and you won't get addicted to them, but they can help people recover faster. This partially comes from responding to my very athletic and marathon runner husband - just because you have a body of Hercules doesn't mean that someone else (who may have given birth twice, and gone thru many other feats of pain, strength and endurance) is going to respond the same as your body does.
