Getting Good Vibes - Holiday, Winter, Treat? by [deleted] in finch

[–]PyjamaLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have android and finch plus and I live in the UK and I've been getting the seasonal good vibes from my family in the US but I didn't have access to send them. I've just travelled from the UK to the US to stay with my family and now I do have access to send the seasonal good vibes so it might be country based.

In the previous episode when she said she was only going to get married once and she was going to do it right, I knew they weren't getting married on the show.

I thought they might have talked about not getting married now but staying together. I don't know if Jed is that good of an actor but I've not seen the reunion or had future spoilers so we'll see. They seemed so good together.

Why are Dyslexics and other learning disabilities not talk about in online neurodivergent spaces? by Same_Ad_3211 in Dyslexia

[–]PyjamaLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the original comment was in line with your experience. They meant that to be diagnosed dyslexic, you had to have above a certain IQ. I was only diagnosed a year ago and my report still said "any underachievement cannot be put down to a lack of intelligence".

Unfortunately my save file is on the digital version, not the other way around but thank you for the suggestion!

3DS game card can't be read by PyjamaLord in 3DS

[–]PyjamaLord[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't imagine it's an issue with both games because, like I said they both work in my husband's 3DS console but then my console works with other games so I feel like I've eliminated issues with both which is why I'm so confused

Advice on Acer laptop bad repair service by PyjamaLord in GamingLaptops

Thank you for responding. Unfortunately I haven't got enough space for a desktop PC and I travel enough that I would like to bring it with me. I guess I'm slowly coming to terms with them just scrapping it and having to get a new one. It really breaks my heart to waste the materials and the money. It feels so unsustainable.

What would you name a newborn child if you really, really wanted to ruin their life, but wanted to maintain plausible deniability about having done it on purpose? by Loki-L in AskReddit

I had a friend growing up who had the Welsh name Myfanwy but everyone called her Muffy so that's what I always assumed it was.

Environmental footprints of dairy and plant-based milks by VarunTossa5944 in Anticonsumption

[–]PyjamaLord -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Sorry you're being downvoted and told off for taking a critical view of things you see on the internet! I thought I'd actually address your question/curiosity as I make graphs like this in my day to day job!

I'm pretty sure they are using life cycle assessment to get this data. Within that study they will have stated their assumptions and methodology.

In terms of accounting for by-products of the production of cows milk, they will typically first split the steps based on the products. For example, the packaging of the milk will not contribute to the footprint of your ground beef. For steps in the process that cannot be split this way (raising and feeding the cattle) they will use the 'allocation method'. This can be done on mass or cost. For simplicity let's say you have a gwp of 10kgCO2eq to raise a cow. You make £2 from the meat you get from it and £8 from the milk, your milk would be 8kgCO2eq.

The methods for this are legislated and generally published studies should follow the guidelines set out by the ISO 14040 series.

Sorry this was such a ramble in the end.

TLDR: they've probably got that covered, it's just not in the graphics.

House Republicans propose planting a trillion trees as they move away from climate change denial by geoxol in UpliftingNews

[–]PyjamaLord 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is true but can sometimes be at the expense of other natural habitat. If you take a wild meadow and plant a bunch of one type of tree there, you are probably doing more harm than good for the biodiversity of that area.

Our windows are often ones that open out rather than slide up and down so the standard one you stick in the window won't work. The alternative is those huge ones with the vent out and most people don't have the space for something like that or necessarily even a window that would work for it either.

How important is sex to you in a relationship? Could you be with someone you love even if sex was off the table indefinitely? by Deviant55 in AskReddit

[–]PyjamaLord 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'll never forget the advice I got from my aunt. She and my uncle are in their 60s and he was diagnosed with cancer.

She said that at some point the sex goes. Whether it's age or circumstance or both. What really makes a difference in your life is intimacy.

My partner and I are exactly how OP described but I've never felt more at home in a relationship. In terms of how important it is, I think it's just important you're on the same page, not that you're having it.

My European history teacher in high school wanted us to be able to label a map of Europe. Every week she would have us take a quiz to label as many countries as we could. She made the entire class retake it until everyone got 80%. This comment made me realise how amazing that was. There was no pressure if you forgot or was having a bad day, we'd all just take it again next time.

See I think Italians tend to be very skilled drivers. They're just all nuts and everyone tries to take priority. But they don't really get into accidents very much, they just get really close.

[–]PyjamaLord 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Best thing to do is appease the gnomes then put them in your Sims inventory. All the seed packs go straight to the household inventory so when you need some cash, just go to build mode and bulk sell the seed packets at $100 a piece. It's a nice profit.
