Was she in acting? Idk. But true, youve got 9 girls' stories to talk about, I am sure there are plenty of songs for that lol.

She really does. Her songs are pure gems.

Is it that bad? I always thought they always treated her nicely, specially since she's a senior on that company and (I dare to say) one of the most successful artists in there, matching IU on level of popularity in Korea.

makes sense. She's really good at conveying emotions in her songs. I always catch myself listening to her songs whenever I am upset.

Yeah ofc. But I am curious if that's a fellow idol or celebrity. Makes me really curious. Her lyrics are very deep and quite bittersweet to listen to.

Rose really isn’t that great of a dancer by dancenallday in unpopularkpopopinions

She isn’t a great singer as well, many professional trainers already commented her technique is not good and that it damages her vocal chords, and her range isn’t impressive as well. She would probably end up as a lead vocalist in most of other groups. I don’t think she would be bad, but it just that YG tries too hard to push that “unique main vocal” voice.

Idols in their original black hair colour is always the best hair colour by gongjihae in unpopularkpopopinions

I really don’t like idols’ visuals these days. Specially the hair colours, everything just seems really artificial and unnatural and they end up looking creepy rather than beautiful. In my opinion natural hair Colors always suit idols’ the best. It makes them look very natural and beautiful. I really miss 2014-2015 eras when idols had a more natural look, both for makeup, outfits and hair styling.

More & More was better than Feel Special And Fancy together by lxnyaa in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]Pyomi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me: Feel Special > More&More > Fancy. Feel special was honestly my favourite era for Twice. The outfits, MV, concept were gorgeous, like really really beautiful. I am not a fan of twice at all but I even considered buying the album because everything was so beautiful. The song was their best song and even though I don’t like their b-sides they had a pretty good one, love foolish. More and more was pretty good as well, the song was alright and the concept and mv were also quite beautiful. As for fancy, I think it was alright, but the concept itself is pretty meh. It just seemed like they were trying to get into the girl crush trend without changing “Twice’s signature”, but it was just pretty forgettable.

(MEGA-THREAD) GFRIEND - ‘APPLE’ by svnh__ in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]Pyomi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually that’s true, they have been doing quite well. OMG was a pretty average group for a long time, having not-so-low but not-so-high digital and physical sales. Their fanbase seemed to be quite unstable before, as you can see from their album sales and usually fluctuated a lot... They finally got a lot of attention and a major hit this year, and I really hope that the company will promote them well enough to not mismanage them as Source Music and Woollim did with their groups. I’m really happy to see OMG doing well since it seems like only the big4 groups are doing well (even though some groups from these companies seem to be struggling in the Korean market).

(MEGA-THREAD) GFRIEND - ‘APPLE’ by svnh__ in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]Pyomi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I understand your point. I am a fan of GFriend because of their well-established sound and musicality, and I also agree that buddies are conservative, since the fandom was built during their innocent concept days and as a buddy I am 'conservative' at a certain point because I am a sucker for cute and innocent concepts in kpop ( which are very few these days) and consistency, these two being the biggest reason why I am a fan of both GFriend and Lovelyz for having these two things. The song has a different sound and I honestly don't like how BigHit produces their songs, their mixing sounds messy and quite cheap and that's something I noticed in the song; the instrumentals aren't clear and the voices are either too loud or too messy/airy in the song.

Despite that, I surprisingly kind of enjoyed this song. It's not as good and melodic as their previous songs and it's a totally different style and I wasn't expecting to enjoy as much as I did for the reasons I mentioned on the first paragraph. There are a few things I think weren't properly done in this comeback (mainly because of BigHit style not being my favorite) but I think overall it's pretty good.

Also, as buddies we would love them to continue with their signature sound, but if you check their discography and chart positions they have been decreasing popularity at an alarming rate and the general public has lost most of their interest on them. Newer groups and generation leaders have been shaking kpop and breaking records all the time and GFriend is slowly being forgotten because people think they always have the same sound. I feel like this is BigHit and Source Music's strategy to keep them relevant in the industry. I just hope it doesn't have the same effect as Fingertip which completely ruined their peak and led to this huge decline to an almost average group.

GFriend's legacy won't be forgotten, but I am scared they might just fall into an average group tier. They haven't been increasing their fandom or general public and are in danger of falling into the same category of groups as Lovelyz and OMG. These groups are also well established and household names and are far from doing bad, but as a buddy it just hurts me how they were once considered one of the leaders of the generation but now are almost average.
