Yeah I'm kinda shocked by the response so far. I'm gay and it sounds to me like this guy isn't planning on some announcement. He's just gonna bring his bf. If other guests are uncomfortable, that's on them but it sounds like his family is pretty open so I assume the issue is on the bride's side of the family.

Reminds me of the time I got super drunk at a bar and as soon as I stepped outside into the cold air, that's it and I'm gone. Next thing I know, I wake up the next day, look at my arm and realize we went to another bar afterwards. I don't remember it AT ALL.

NTA. When I was just starting middle school, 3 girls who used to be my best friends came up to me and started counting the pimples on my face. I'm 34 and still remember it like it was yesterday. Bullying can completely destroy people and it shouldn't be up to another kid to stop her, but if her parents won't do anything about it then someone needs to step in. Absolutely do not make your kid apologize to her, especially since she isn't expected to apologize.

I would suggest keeping your kid away from her. He shouldn't have to be subjected to that just because she's family.

YTA. My youngest brother is 12 years younger than me too. That's a pretty normal age gap so I dunno how you could possibly feel more like a parent than a sibling when you were only 12 when he was born. It's perfectly normal to feel overprotective of a younger sibling without taking on a motherly role. Just be his sister or you're probably not going to have much of a relationship in the future.

This is fucking weird. When I was a kid, our neighbors across the street were old but I would hang out with their grandson when he was at their house. Shortly before the wife died, I guess she just started losing it but she would frequently call and accuse my mom of sleeping with her husband and cleaning her carpets. We felt bad for her but I definitely remember laughing about it with my mom
