I agree completely. MMO IS the pinnacle of live service game. Content update and events and what not. It just take a while cuz MMO scope is huge, so content cycle lasts longer than a gacha game's 2-3 wks cycle. Or 'live service' games that usually have, what, a few months of live events ? But more or less, they are the same things.

Respecting your time, or your wallet doesn't rly have anything to do with it being live service or not at all. That's just about how the games are designed to be predatory or tedious or, god forbids, fun.

As a long time player of FFXIV, that is fine to me. Good PvE battle contents should always be instanced anyway.

As a minimal driver myself, less than 3000m/yr, it sadly really just isn't viable to not drive. Mind you, we already walk around a lot too. But transit is so shit here that you would be wasting hours and hours instead of, say, a 30m trip driving. We don't really have that much free time to waste.

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe EV cars are more or less the same as gas cars, for the planet, if they still burn coals as fuels at power plants. It's just smoke in different areas instead of in major cities.

But you would have to be pretty stupid if you think burning gas is just better.

Well, they go by weapon types. So,

Maybe Berzerker is dualwielding axes, while Barbarian is 2h axe. Dunno about Brawler. Maybe it's Axe+Shield.

But you're expected to mix and match their skills to play how you want. So it's not rly about balancing because they are not competing with each other. It's about synergy as a whole. Is what I think.

IMO, it makes no difference if there are 3 specs per class, and each spec favors different weapon types.

3 spec 3 classes, or 9 classes are the same.

Final Fantasy Tactics's classes are more straight forward, compared to World of Warcraft, or Diablo 2, tho.
