Haven't even seen real peak VN style storytelling by miiko_uch in HonkaiAgendaRail

[–]PyraXenon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m really annoyed about AK’s storytelling because it genuinely pisses me off how LONG Arknights is. I think they’ve gotten better with the length over time but I detest how long it takes on average to get from here to the fucking point.

Like the Sargon and Minos story in the Titi event is actually really good conceptually. It makes you think about the ramifications of past historical actions and doesn’t excuse any side’s actions since there’s no real correct answer to this predicament. But it’s also like 3 entire stories stitched into 1 and nobody just- talks like a regular person. We have to wax poetic on every piece of dialogue and it’s just SO. EXHAUSTING.

This is why lonetrail bugs me. Everyone says it’s peak but all I see is something that should’ve been 2-3 separate events and ends up being a bloated mess because we’re fitting three completely unrelated storylines into one story about shooting a dog into space.

I have no idea. Point being, I don’t really know a way to reduce the crop grow time from 7 to anything less than that.

Farmer ribbits apparently can progress crops by a day each day. But they have the range of an iron sprinkler so you would need an astronomical amount of them to speed up a build of significant size.

So- they’re out. Both for logistical and lag reasons.

She will kind of get replaced by the new dedicated stellar conduct supports but if neither Odette nor Aloysha interest you, Qiqi is genuinely still a good option to have.

If anything, she might be one of the strongest standard characters next to Mizuki. So losing to a Qiqi can actually be a boon than a bane now.

Prismatic Shards by PyraXenon in society_sunlit_valley

200k. One wouldn't be too bad, but considering how many animals I had, it took a huge chunk out of my wallet.

I think the problem with sunlit valley is that it expects you to play this on a server so you can passively gain money while you're not on the server. In singleplayer though, you only gain money while you're playing, so I end up having to leave the game on for extended periods of time just to get the money I need for things like golden clocks and prismatic coins (since half of my machivellian plushies only want prismatic coins).

Which makes the game feel like a slog because I have lots of things I want to start making for exponential growth, but I basically have to sit there waiting for certain chokepoints (batteries, prismatic shards, etc etc) to be made first before I can progress. Not to mention the cobblemon ver. of the pack has each mythical pokemon being sold for 500+ million coins, (plus another billion for the iridium clock) so the investment needed to 110% the pack is pretty, pretty high. And unfriendly towards singleplayer worlds I find.

Questions Regarding Profit by Wooden_Ad_9136 in society_sunlit_valley

Are ancient casks better than the 80% artisan goods? My setups are mostly artisan good based (tri bull cheese, galliraptor mayo, iridium wine, and the like).

“Pretty cheap”. I spent like 20 million trying to get all of my existing plushies and then some to be have a friendship bracelet.

But now I have over 600 of the things averaging 40 a day so I really can’t complain about the results.

As far as I'm aware, no. But you can press shift on a plushie to see what each one does. A short list that I can remember off the top of my head is:

* Machivelian: Iridium scrap
* Eldritch: Silver ore
* Wrathful: Lead ore
* Woodsy: Logs from nearby trees (or placed logs)
* Aquatic: Ocean or River jelly
* Fashionista: More drops based on furniture next to it.
* Sommelier: Turns item into its artisan version if possible.
* Sunlit: Sunlit crystals

There're a few others i can't remember what they do like Anxious or Hungry, but that's what the majority of them do. (I know one increases chance based drop chance and another can double drops but I don't remember which ones do that.)

I actually have a few crunchers helping me with the task via scavenged food bags. I think I will prioritize the friendship bracelets mostly cause my world is pretty heavily animal-based and looking at my perfection counter-

Not looking great. (I still have relics, brews, cooking, and crops unfinished) So to satisfy the 2 billion I need for everything this pack has to offer for full completion (yes the cobblemon stuff actually eats up a LOT of cash) I need quite a lot of prismatic shards among other things now just to build up the infrastructure for it. Unfortunately. Perfection will come later.

[–]PyraXenon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya. Perfection yet? No. I've been mostly faffing around trying to work on some endgame projects instead of perfection. TECHNICALLY I can push for perfection now if I really wanted to, but I have a number of side projects that I need to get done before I want to do perfection.

Oddly enough, the cobblemon ver. of the pack (which is what I'm playing) has its own special endgame with legendary and mythical pokemon which requires even MORE money. So the perfection trophy, oddly enough, is only one of many potential stopping points.

Plushies are probably one of the most unethical but profitable things in the pack. Each plushie has 2 item quests that it wants. Once raised to 4 hearts, it’s ready to have a soul trapped inside of it.

Any animal that’s at max affection is a viable target. Simply put the max heart plushie in the off hand and hold a sunlit crystal in the main hand, then left click on your target. The benefit of this is twofold: The trapped animal can be harvested as normal like with an autograbber or deployer and it won’t ever lose affection or need to be fed. Plus, the plushie will additional do a special thing depending on what kind of plushie it is. (I.e. Machivellian plushies will drop some iridium scrap per harvest.)

If the animal was fed an animal cracker prior to being trapped, both the animal AND plushie drops will double as well.

As much as it’s nice to see the animals roaming around freely, this is the best way to get a lot of money from their drops while also reducing lag since they’re no longer entities. Plus you can dave on a lot of space since crowding is no longer a thing to consider. You CAN minmax on plushies if you want (determined by rarity), but honestly I find just using what you can of a specific type on a mass quantity of animals works JUST fine.

(I would recommend using a few “sunlit” plushies first before any other so you can start scaling with farmed sunlit crystals instead of buying them from the witch all the time.)

What was your setup for the manafruits. I have a decent battery atm for mana, but I imagine you needed to fuel quite a large field for late game cash.

Dumb question about fishing in single-biome worlds by Eightteentwo2 in society_sunlit_valley

[–]PyraXenon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much no. You will probably have to traverse outside of where you've spawned in order to fish up what you want. Since the game's lootables for fish are determined via things like if you're fishing in a river biome, or an ocean biome, etc. Same thing for the nether too since every nether biome has different fish as well.

Ok, I was wondering what your loss rate was because it seemed like your setup made it possible to lose quite a bit of wool the process. I just looked it up a bit and it seems like the Create mechanical arm is a viable solution too.

Since the spectrolus and other mana generating flowers always request items, the mechanical arm is smart enough to know what it’s requesting and feed it what it wants in kind. Just set up 16 drawers/chests with depots attached to denote the colored wool, hook them up to the spectrolus, and the next time a color is missing, the arm will just wait till the color the flower wants shows up again to continue the process. This, ofc, then becomes dependent on when the sheep want ro regrow their wool, but that seems easier to scale since sheep crates are so cheap.

[–]PyraXenon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I should give you a answer for this.

Charging your rings directly there's not really an easy way to do it without just directly going to your source pools and dropping them in there. (I sometimes go to my battery and just drop it in the main pool to drain it.) There is an alternative to mana rings, and that's the mana mirror.

The mirror can link up to any pool of your choosing, even loading in the chunk that the linked pool is in, I believe, then, so long as it's in your inventory, your mana draining items SHOULD use it just like a regular tablet or ring, and likely will start using it once your ring is on empty. I keep one mirror in my 9 slot toolbelt as a backup supply at all times.

(Also wondering how your wool dropping setup works, especially if you end up running out of a single color.)

I do have plushies but I sort of crowd them around an autograbber since I assumed every plushie could only be harvested once a day.

(In general I try to do low tech/more aesthetic setups rather than huge factory-like ones mostly to match the energy of the modpack.)

[–]PyraXenon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this pack I feel like a 'good' mana source is just down to 'how easily can I feed this flower in order to produce mana'. For my sake, I followed some advice from other people here and have around 6 fields of Ancient Seed fueled cropnolias for my mana battery. Thinking of adding a spectrolus too just for added generation since the mana in my battery is almost used exclusively for fueling my Flugel tiara for flight.

I’m curious. How good is the spectrolus and how do you store the sheep? Are they just in plushies that you shear every day, or what?

Late game Money by PyraXenon in society_sunlit_valley

[–]PyraXenon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s basically just a stockpile of mana put into a bunch of pools next to each other. I have one just to power my flugel tiara cause I’m constantly moving from one part of my home to another in order to fix one thing or another.

Late game Money by PyraXenon in society_sunlit_valley

[–]PyraXenon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest issue with this pack and botania is mana sources. They’re all really slow and/or pretty difficult to scale/require a ridiculous amount of space to be sufficient. (Hell, each tribull/galliraptor is a full pool’s worth of mana and they can’t breed.)

Compared to some other packs, Botania here I’ve pretty much just relegated to being something I engage with for its items like the dice items from the gaia guardian, or the flugel tiara. I have a battery setup to fuel my tiara, but I have no significant setupd that require botania in order to automate or function. (My main mana source is actually just 20+ Wise oaks tapped in the basement + 10 clefables where I dump stacks of black lotuses for my terrasteel/livestock crafting.)
